Ok that beats anything i have done or will do!!
@jamiek’s inlayed medallions at RMRRF were a great showcase example to show, tell and give to folks we met at RMRRF. They’re a great way to help inspire folks to realize the kind of precision they can achieve with their V1E builds.
Took/stole a couple, and am still showing them off to friends that come round
Wow I leave to go to dinner and this thread came alive! Yes to everything ya’ll just said.
Perfect I like that I can mess with it if needed. and add some embedded clips, auto rotate slides, that might be just perfect!
I’ll be using this one in Trondheim! Thanks!
I screwed up the tool change and had to seperate the file. But just throw it in the trash after mrrf.
It looks great. I would rather something be honest than perfect at a show like this any day. If every project there was easy and pristine, I would be very skeptical.
@vicious1 Ryan, can you bring a touchplate with you, I will make sure I have a 5 spot for you. The one I made is no bueno!
You know, have you ever brought full kits with you, for immediate purchase? I wonder if it would sell.
I think one or 2 would go!
Heck yes!!
Adding it to my pile, no problem.
whoops, I was editing, see my other comment above, LOL
You are supposed to register for a sales permit in each state then pay sales tax in each state if it has any. Not worth it. And it would be hard to get it there.
ohh, ouch, o.k. nvm that train of thought, LOL
yeah, selling online makes all that easy. I pay a state sales tax for any sales in Cali, and a city specific rate if I sell anything in my city. At one point they audited me and wanted me to pay tax on every county and every city I ever sold to in California. I ended up talking to a supervisor or something and they cleared it all up, and said I will probably get the same call every 5 years or so since they currently do not have an online only tax category…
Able to easily sell at Open Sauce? Or do you have to do something interesting like require Customer standing in front of you buy online then get immediate pickup from you at Open Sauce?
Not sure, I would have to pay SF sales tax and set up the POS. Just not sure if selling kits is a good idea as an impulse buy.
I wonder what the details are if someone did a completely online purchase, but intended to come to the show and arranged pickup there.
I do not advocate trying to dodge tax structures, but sometimes it’s nice to try to get around paying shipping charges…
For the SF show I have no issue with that.
For MRRF I will glady bring anything but full kits! I am sure I have an entire free suitcase if needed.
