Estlcam 12 Alpha

That should be easily doable. You can have multiple tool lists or merge existing ones.

Huh???

I agree, I just don’t know if we have that. I bought the 5 pack of mixed endmills, but only have 2 of them defined so far.

Yesterday I was going to add in the ball end and was unsure exactly what to put for Radius, flutes, etc.

It would be good to at least have screenshots of the correct settings in there for all of his end mills for new people to get started with

Pretty sure the ball is 1/8" radius so that would be 1.5875 if I remember correctly. And i believe those are 2 flute. Sorry not looking at it right this second.

It’s 1/8” endmill, so I assumed 1/16” radius, which is 1.5875mm, and 2 flute, but it just wasn’t spelled out anywhere.

It takes a bit of learning for people to get comfortable with all these things, and as someone who is completely new to CNC and CAM, I can be quite unsure of myself, as I’m sure others are too

Oh I don’t disagree with you at all and I’m sure @vicious1 wouldn’t have an issue adding it to the Docs

Is there still the ability to scale dxfs? I am too dumb or it has been removed.

I cant get it to scale move or anything for a DXF

Looks like maybe only the toolpath scaling is implemented so far

This would be really stupid. You can now define a program for editing files, maybe that’s the way he wants it to go. But waiting for AutoCAD to load up instead of just quickly scaling it is not really feasible. He also removed the function to add a second or third drawing. A lot of steps back it seems. :expressionless: The carves are a lot nicer though, but it seems one has to run both versions to really profit…

Yeah, he said somewhere it was a complete rewrite without using the old code.

Not really sure how actively he’s working on it.

It’s been a month and he still didn’t respond to my email, and there’s no visible way to see activity.

It’s still deemed Alpha quality, so I would expect missing features

He does take the money now if you want to skip the counter, so it would have those basics I think.
He answered me in one day, because it was a serious bug with carves. He isn’t too friendly either, but rather one of those efficient Germans. :yum:

How do I fix this???

it’s still there, but it’s a bit hidden:

So: press “select” and use “shift” + right mouse button
Then you can resize/rotate

You don’t know your micrometers???

Right-click does work to select the DXF, but beware, it only works once lol.

Once it gets de-selected, I can no longer select it again

remember to choose “select”, you can’t select when esltcam is in rotation/move mode

I surely do not lol

It works after restarting EstlCAM. For some reason it wouldn’t let me in select mode either

Thanks, he told me the same thing. But you have to have to use the arrow tool. Can’t do it in the other mode.
