Upgrading LR3 to LR4 in Seattle

“Why, yes… I DO have a carbon fiber strut plate!”

 (sticker from the auto parts store, but it does look great IMHO!)

(Also, I figured out the weird colliding Jackpot enclosure issue from before! I just had loose screws holding on the bottom strut plate (no nuts,) and it got loose and was hanging down, enough to collide with the core! Then when I took off the box to look, it must have popped back into place. Fully secured now! MAXIMUM NUTS IN PLACE.)

Noticed how the strut plate has come 10+ mm out of the “notch” in the brace, causing badness. Mystery solved! Nuts are not optional!

Surfacing the spoilboard is so satisfying, especially when there’s zero dust to deal with! Amazing…

Definitely going to clean up those goofy probe wires…

This is handy. Print in place checklist / to-do board - Insert your paper and close! by wafflecart | Download free STL model | Printables.com

Can make longer lists for complex operations with tiling/ tool changes etc.

Must… plug… all… holes…

Looks great!

Couple little upgrades before I try cutting some bigger stuff.

This thing is easier to turn off than my power strip, although not exactly OSHA compliant. I’m curious to try hooking up an e-stop button to the Safety Door pin, Parking Feaure | Wiki.js.

Magnetized my probe connector, to avoid snagging on stuff, but mainly just look a little cleaner.

On to some projects!

Cool!

One last decoration for the holidays…

Thanks for the efforts from everyone involved here! LowRider v3 Nameplate / Logo-Text, 8 Variations I went with the older logo to keep the chrome retro car-logo look.

It looks better in reality than in the picture, almost like a cutout, until you notice that it’s a reflection.

Slick! Did you drag knife cut vinyl wrap or mill Alu?

It is drag knife and “chrome tape” from the auto parts store. Haven’t done any aluminum YET, but looking forward to it!
Tip: for material this thick, running the drag knife a few times, with tiny depth increases between passes was the way to go.

Dollar tree also has very inexpensive vinyl for cutting, but not sure they have anything shiny.

Looks great. I bet aluminium AC ducting tape would work really well too.

Thanks! Indeed aluminum tape would likely work great. Curiously, this thick chrome tape has smoothed itself out after a couple days, so the texture of the “Carbon fiber” no longer shows through. I hope it stays adhered!
