Upgrading LR3 to LR4 in Seattle

Hose first, after the wires should be pretty easy.

Backtracking a bit. Will follow the X-disconnect hose-twist directions this time. Hose has a nice grounding wire, and I had a 10% off coupon at woodcraft for my birthday.

Time to deploy the Black Mamba Snufflesnood!

Not sure about this gap between the hose and the router. I think I will modify my 1.5" brace, unless there’s some reason against it.

Someone created a bigger holder yesterday.

Is your Core able to reach X min unobstructed and engage the X endstop ok? Personally snugged up my 2.5" vac hose closer to router using releasable zipties.

Yes, but thank you for the heads up! I’ll keep an eye on it.

Made this thing for a little support.

Kinda weird, the lower core bearing bolt heads bumps into my Jackpot case. Will loosen up the case and take a closer look after re-cut my longer struts.
(edit: unclear what it was, but the case itself is clear of the bolt . Likely an errant wire.)

(edit from the future, the strut plate has come loose and is hanging down!)

Is your case hanging over the other side?

What case is that?

My case doesn’t have that shape.

It’s the v1e case, but maybe it is tilted weirdly somehow?? Will look closely when I get home shortly.

It must have been colliding with something else, or had it somehow tilted down? I noticed it when I put the lid on, so I must have pushed a wire where it didn’t belong.

No collisions now, maybe a loose wire was dangling. I will secure everything more.

New hose is great, fully grounded. X travel is smooth with everything coiling into the hose channel correctly. A nice 1280 mm of X travel.
Onward!

Also, just squared – corners matched up perfectly with my “engraved” 1200x1200 grid, with no adjustment!! I guess I’m ready to cut some stuff!

Was thinking about CNC’d or printed soffit-panel/baffles earlier today to help close off that gap (between bottom strut and bottom rail).

Was wondering about the split struts, but then I stumbled onto your earlier post…

Good idea, maybe I’ll run some tape along that section just to keep things where they should be.

Just did a test cut. Seems dead on. Most amazingly, the dust collection is insane, I saw zero dust. So happy!

Awesome!!

New struts at last! I tried the “dowel” method (2 dowel holes, shift workpiece down, not the “flip” method) and it worked great. Easier than diagonal? Maybe not. More accurate? Maybe. But it was good to try something new, might be handy in the future!

Now to decorate them… Hmmmmmm
