Bit of a sidestep here from topic, vectric has a beta for Mac arm users. I’d actually buy that tbf, absolutely detest running windows in parallels- it’s not great at all :frowning: bet aspire or similar would be an absolute powerhouse on an m max mac!

You should try MIllMage. It has a free trial period with full functionality. It runs great on my Macbook.

Cheers, I’ll take a look

Just took a look, it looks impressive and similar to vectric. The pro isn’t released as yet with vcarve, that said anticipated $199 is a sensible 1 time price imo. Normal versions $99.

…. It seems like most hobbies I tend to navigate towards, this is going to be quite a deep rabbit hole!

I am in the process of adding an ATC to my CNC after having gone through four different CNCs in five years… Having pocket money left at the end of the month is a very foreign concept to me…

Hahaha - I’ll bite, what’s an atc… and why do I need one next :see_no_evil_monkey:

I’ve discovered there’s a mad checklist prior to cutting. Checking all corners are 0 and such on all pieces. I’ve found something I may use as a brace as well, it’s aluminium shop sign material. Not sure if it’s a waste when I could use for other things tho.

Decisions decisions…

Neighbours have all been over for a nose, none bothered by the noise ( my actual neighbour might be a tad upset but then he sometimes hoovers his drive tbf ) but we don’t speak anyhow

It’s a spindle with an automatic, pneumatic toolchanger. You definitely don’t need one.

Need is a strange word :eyes::rofl:

Joking, yeah defo not at that stage, and I just bought a laser range finding night scope so kind of tapped out for the near future.

In other news I got some ply and cut it ( with a spooned end mill ) but it worked. I’ll get them installed asap.

Also tried some v carving ( yes yes… I know the brace isn’t on :eyes: ) and it’s also not a flat piece. I also tried on mdf but forgot to take a pic tbh.

really cool!

Looks great, you seem like an incredibly fast learner.

( now add the apostrophe to “Ghost’s”.:slightly_smiling_face:)

Hahaha yeah, I realised after but I’m not a spelling Nazi :eyes::rofl: joking aside, it’s made me consider double checking as it’s easy to typo etc and I’m realising I need to make a check sheet pre cutting as I always remember something I should likely have checked after starting…. Often it’s starting the router tbh as I dive accross the table to click go!

I am getting paid for it as an English teacher…

I once wrote Sabine instead of Sandra because I didn’t listen to my wife carefully… Had to do a whole new box…

I also once installed my 16mm bowl cutter instead of a 3mm endmill for holes out of habit, thinking the 16mm would be first.. That was interesting.

Double checking is usually a great idea.

Hahahahaa fair play, glad it’s not just me

I also made the mistake of posting a couple pics on Facebook for family to see, and people are contacting me trying to buy things :frowning:

That’s great! Make sure you are not breaking any laws selling, but besides that it’s a great way to refinance your machine!! Absolutely do it, but quote realistic prices.
