Oh…I like this one!

I never even thought to look for cases that already exist.

wood!-

Side saddle-

Print one and see if there are any edits needed.

I want to run this on the HAAS Machine at my buddy’s shop. This would be sweet in aluminum.

I just received my CYD Pendant:

CYDPendant

It’s made in Australia by Cybernetic Systems

It’s very well made.

Strangely, I think I prefer the Fluiddial, though.

The CNC Handwheel Encoder is super nice and very rewarding to turn, but it’s also so tempting and easy to just spin it like a roulette wheel, and if your steps are set high, the spindle will go flying … ask me how I know.

In the M5 you can do this too, but seeing the steps right on the screen between your fingers is a visual reminder to lower them if you want to make a precise movement versus the milled aluminum one that is just a spinning wheel. IE: if my eyes are focusing on the handwheel and not the screen, I can accidentally be spinning the dial when my steps are high.

Either way, I like both of them and will likely find which one is best for which situation.

I have one question, with the pendant do we get a way to connect a usb drive and not use the sdcard at all?

nope

Nice, now i have a dead board. Mmm nvm will take the jackpot im using with my diode

?? The USB killed your board?

That was my reaction too! Did you try flashing it while pendant connected?

No. The sd card port is Dead

Should be pretty hard to kill that. Maybe hit all the sd card port pins with a soldering iron real quick to see if there is a bad solder joint.

Maybe later, the machine cant truly stop for long. The board i replaced it with never uses the sd card (my diode runs directly from lightburn)

@vicious1 i really liked how your pendant looks, any update? Are you going to be selling kits?

I might make some injection molded shells just to try it out but for now using Bart’s affiliate links is probably a good idea.

If I do get the shells I might make a full kit just so it is easier for everyone but I will talk to Bart about an appropriate royalty for his work.

Excellent. I’ll keep using my big tablet s until then.

I really dont like the hassle to buy from multiple vendors.

Not-yet-owner of a v1 machine talking: We had a rather simply portal router with grbl and UGS at the training center of my workplace without a proper pendant. I understand joystick / virtual joystick jogging for rough position, but for manual touch off on a workpiece interacting with the GUI was absolutely despicable to me but much less of a problem for others. But I’m a tinkerer at heart and would not call a pendant and absolute necessity. Especially with a (tiny) touch plate.

Edit: I’ve read theres an WebUi add-on (?) for better touchscreen jogging, haven’t had the chance to try that unfortunately.
