Status on Lowrider 4

The thought of doing it manually on my single feed ender… makes me a die a little inside

Without actually adjusting the print to what I actually did, adding the color change to all 10 added 2.5 hours. So I was off a bit on my guess.

@vicious1 — Move to West Virginia! Our state is located within 500 miles of 60% of the nation’s population, according to a US government website. And we have some of the best hunting, fishing, and other recreations anywhere, and a low cost of living. World class white water rafting too.

In my mind the things are like this:
YZ plates, and flat parts, can be good with 2D infills like Triangles or Hexagons, cause they are more or less plates.
The core instead is a component that have to withstand to forces from all the directions, so a 3D Honeycomb could be better.

Maybe I’m wrong, or simply I’m overthinking

The newer infills have a moving fill, gyroid and cubic, etc, these are less likely to propigate an issue. All the old infills make in constant interior pattern that may or may not be as good.

That said, it depends on the part and the loading. The is never going to be a “best” infill, just a best for that specific part and loading.

That said I can not see myself ever using gyroid or honeycomb on a regular basis, I value my printers too much.

No no no… I’m perfectly happy with Ryan living 30 miles east of me!! He’s not allowed to move!!

Good point here, for mass productions it’s true, but I think my printer can survive to a single Core
Anyway, I will never notice the difference, since this core will go on a freakin’ small LR4, 570mm X rails :joy:

I added more instructions. I merged without a pull request, I did not spellcheck, let see how I did…

Just randomly scanning the updates and I saw this and was confused for a sec.

  • If you bought the V1 kit notice to two end Braces have a different surface pattern.

And I had to look at the sales page to realize it is the printed kit. Maybe change to state if you bought the V1 printed parts kit? Also typo to → the

Planning on a homedepot run for emt. This is the closest I found to 1" OD. Does this look right? If not does someone have a link to something that would work?

Could be lowes or anywhere else if not homedepot.

Not it. You want 1" EMT. Which is actually 29.5mm so a little bit over 1" outside

Yeah thanks. I saw that first, and I saw in the specs that it was 1.16 and thought it was too much.

For the tool mount would using ABS be ok? I don’t have red PETG but I do have red ABS, and I want all the accent pieces to match (first world problems :stuck_out_tongue:).

And check it. I roll on the floor to see if they are straight. 1 inch is tough but i found a few that were not!!!

Very nice tip thanks! I’ll remember to bring my calipers with me.

I do the same thing with rolling it to check. I am a little surprised that I have to sort through it to find the stuff that is straight.

Also for whatever it’s worth, I consistently find better (Straighter) 1" EMT at my local Lowes compared to the local Home Depot. Downside, is the Local Lowes is often sold out of 1" EMT for some reason, while the local HD almost always has some in stock.
