I just bought the kit wit the skr board. Is the jackpot a better choice?

AH HA, the link is incorrect:

Ok I’ll search out the Jackpot board, thank you!

Oh wait, looks like the Jackpot board is by itself. Would I still need the SKR kit and just swap boards? So I can get the screen as well?

that screen is not compatible with the jackpot. the jackpot is a wifi board and most people just connect to it through a tablet or computer. you can make a fluid dial pendant to have a seperate screen and control device

Anyone have a plan to check in on @vicious1 tomorrow with the flood of orders? Make sure the bubble wrap didn’t revolt or anything? :upside_down_face:

I think Ryan is still trying to get all the links and options set up correctly in shopify. Just be patient with it.

You can use either the SKR or the Jackpot (or whatever else you might want to) My personal favorite is the Jackpot hands down. And I had 3 machines running SKRs before.

I just ordered the upgrade kit. I’ve never actually built my v3, so I’ll just build a v4. I have the skr ready, should I bin it and just start with jackpot. I figured it was better because it was more expensive, maybe that was poor judgement.

I run skrs. Work fine. They are more capable for other things like 3d printing as well. They have some stuff CNC won’t use (heater controls and fan outputs and thermal sensor inputs), so the jackpot doesn’t have those and is less expensive. The two supported options are skr and jackpot. But if you are semi proficient, you can get most 5 channel stepper controllers to work. Building one of these the first time is much easier and faster if you go with the supported control option and use the provided firmware. Skr or jackpot will work.

No reason at all to throw it. It will work just fine. I just was giving my personal preference. If you have it already for sure use it. If you are having to buy new anyways, then I would go jackpot

just make sure that you build it as intended. Especially if you plan to run marlin.

Changing x and y will be a major rebuild for Marlin if you wish to do so.

I am sure the board will be supported by Ryan as it is intended to work. Especially if he sold it.

I am nearly done putting the strut plates on my LR3 build but decided to go ahead and order parts for the V4 anyway even though I’m sure I won’t get around to it for a few months. Super excited for the new release!

As an aside this sure is a busy week for releases. LR4 drops and then another project I’m interested in called Blamcon (Arcade Light Guns) is dropping later this week. My wallets gonna be hurting. Super happy with the LR3 to LR4 kit price!

Order Placed! I hope Ryan makes a F-Ton of money on this release!

On a side note, I know things are still being posted on the V1E website, but did I miss then link to the printables?

Thanks, & happy building everyone!

I don’t think that has been done yet. He is one man getting swamped with orders right now and trying to still get everything done. I am sure they will be up real soon

If you can don’t forget to tip Ryan when purchasing, I’m sure he’s not making a ton of money on the parts, as they are DIRT cheap.
