The lounge requires Regular status (Trust Level 3), and that means that you have to be, well, a regular here. That means visiting the forum at least every other day, making comments/replies in a variety of threads, and viewing both new topics and new posts. And oh yeah, giving and receiving “likes”.
I’m going to start by giving you a like on your post.
As you say that you read a lot of posts in the LR section, why not start there by commenting on some other members’ build threads (just an attaboy or nice! ) or asking questions in some existing LR3 threads.
The more you post, the more people can “like” your comments. And don’t forget to send reactions to posts that give you value.
Also there are some other topics that relate directly to the LR3, such as firmware/software, things you’ve made, etc., that may be of interest for you to read and review, and even post comments or questions in.
Pretty soon you’ll be a regular, and can hang in the lounge if you so choose, Currently there is a lot of traffic there regarding the upcoming LR4 release, but if you take that thread out of the equation, the lounge isn’t really that much of a big deal. I find much more interesting material in the main LR3 and Things You’ve Made sections. YMMV.
What’s more to say. Ryan has designed dust shoes for the common router configurations, which include user-printed flexible bristle panels and a snap-fit lower section where the bristles install.
I’d imagine you’ll see adapters for every dust collection hose configuration imaginable shortly after release as remixes start to arrive.
My apologies - I guess I struck the wrong tone with my post. I meant for it to be informative. Not to whinge about it.
I was just trying to make the point that it’s 25% of All Posts in all subs. Having multiple subs in which you’re interested, for those that want to hang out in the lounge.
I learn a lot here. I suspect the lounge is nice when something like LR4 is about to drop. But I suspect most of those members spend far more time interacting with the rest of us.
We are having our local makers movement members meeting nr 2 on Monday. One of the topics for the meeting is organizing building of the LR4! It’s not the end of the world if it’s not ready by then, but it’d be amazing to have a printed parts list to distribute among the members for the printing job!
Waiting to click order on a hardware kit and print on the parts.
But I know you’ve got a small operation and as soon as you open the floodgates on people printing/ordering, there goes all your time. So I’m personally content keeping my eyes on the forum, seeing the stuff others are doing with their projects keeps me excited to get mine built out!!
