We’re working… Ryan is finishing his tests on RC3 before it goes out to us in the beta group. I have all of the released parts printed, waiting on a few that are still in testing.
A couple of features are still in discussion, which may or may not lead to another RC round.
Ryan will chase perfection as much as he can, I’m here for it no rush here just like hearing the updates! Also those videos of that speed had me drooling!
We’re still refining some of the small quality of life features like how things print and in particular if they’re printable by less than an unobtanium (perfect printing) machine.
Ryan sweats the big details then the middle details and then the small details. Sometimes that causes a loop. But we’re on to the small details, so there’s hope for a release soon.
I’m so sorry, I asked everyone to keep some secrets. The teasers are fun but a “big” reveal is fun as well. We are all getting deep in the weeds trying to plan ahead, think ahead, solve as many issues as we can before they are even an issue.
Should be a bit easier to build, a bit less expensive , more fun, and more capable.
Very much anticipating the release of the LR4. Just built a LR3 and so far have very much enjoyed the experience and use of the machine.
I understand that V1/beta testers can’t say much about the LR4 before it is released, but will the overall footprint of the machine be similar to that of the LR3? I am currently building a table/enclosure for my LR3 and am wondering if I am going to have to completely rebuild once the LR4 comes out, or if only small changes are needed.
Again, thanks to everyone on the forum for the great support, and can’t wait for the LR4!
Hopefully it’s OK with Ryan for us to say this vague word of comfort: one of Ryan’s design goals was to have at least as much cut area as the LR3, if not a little bit more, and I think he succeeded.
So if someone hypothetically were wanting to build a table in anticipation of the LR4 release, they could theoretically use the table calculator for the LR3 and at least be in the ballpark? I know all of this is all subject to change obviously.
Evening, I’m also in the same predicament. I’ve been following the lowrider for awhile and was just starting to order parts to build the v3. It was a little frustating because everything was sold out so I went to Ali for the linear rails. I should have read the forums as I didn’t realize the v4 was just around the corner. !!
Now the hard part is to sit on my hands and wait
The good news is that just about everything for the LR3 (except printed/milled parts) transfers to the LR4. A few screw counts get changed, but if you’re buying screws bulk, you probably won’t even notice.
@vicious1 see above— if you can get a free minute, maybe consider setting up an auto forwarder on your store so that people shopping for the LowRider v3 kit get taken to a “coming soon” page about LowRider v4?
I’ll admit that I didn’t click on an individual item. If I had, then yes I would have figured it out. I saw the sold out labels on the main page and went to find the BOM list instead. And to be fair, there looks to be at least 2 other threads of people asking about the sold out status
Sorry, it wasn’t meant as an attack. It was already there when it wasn’t sold out, when you would have clicked the product. I guess I would not have clicked it either.
