Okay, took the box out to test, movement was about spot on. the steppers are quietter? but they humm between movements which is wierd maybe I havent heard it before.
flipping thru the menus I hit z home and it started bottoming out and i pulled the plug to stop it and now it says no printed connected and nothing works… What broke?
Z Home is for homing with a touch plate. Bottoming out will not hurt the Z stepper nor would it impact the control board. From reading the forum, the “no printer connected” problem seems to have two sources, the black cables from the TFT to the control board being wired backwards, or the baud rate of the TFT not being set correctly. You might try putting your display in Marlin mode by holding down the knob for 10 seconds. It will not solve your TFT issues, but it should allow you to move around and verify the rest of the things are working.
Note that any command with the word “Home” in it triggers a homing command for either endstops or for a touch plate.
Thanks for your reply, way ahead of you. No movement in marlin.
And obviously the wiring didnt change by unplugging the power cord, however i did double check it as a precaution.
I also reflashed both firmwares in hopes to reset a hung bit or other random issue.
I’ve swapped drivers out as well
E. The extra drivers were on the board when whatever happen happen, i moved x to y to z etc
When none of the steppers move but the electronics appear healthy look for a power problem. Either a wire that has worked loose at the terminal which are powering the motors, or the fuse for the motors is blown.
