The more light you have to battle the more $$$ you need to spend. High end models are great… But cost more than two IDEX builds

This is true, but someone coming to help out may already own one. I own a pretty bright one, but sadly I’m not in a position to attend. Mine is not a micro sized projector, but decently bright.

its cool to see how far they have come. My dad has always had on in his theater room. and when I was a kid even if one of the blinds was open you’d have a hard time seeing anything. and now you don’t even have to close anything and you can see it just fine!

Most vendors and exhibitor will go to walmart or best buy and buy a cheap 32 inch tv as a mini/pico projector usually doesn’t have enough power to avoid being washed out by ambient light, and put it on their table or a TV stand post.
Modern/short throw projectors definitely have the lumens, but they tend to be expensive

Thanks for more confirmation on the Death Racers. I am trying to get a Patreon account setup to get a membership with Michael Baddeley to get the base files, but I opened the account and had it shut down minutes later for suspicious activity. No idea what is going on and have yet to hear back from Patreon support.

Well, I asked the family if they wanted to go and the kids screamed “yes!” We will be coming to the RMRRF again this year. I’ll probably come on Sunday, since it was quiet last year. I will make sure to stop by the booth again and say hi.

I have not been following the discussion closely, but I think there has been some discussion of having videos running or sonething.
If you can live with somewhat older technology, I have two moderately sized TV’s (~35"?) and two stands on which they can mount which would free up table space. Stands are on wheels so movable. We’ve used them for this sort of thing in the past so I guess they have HDMI connections, but that can be checked. (Could also just use large displays, I expect, but I don’t have anything big enough.)
You may remember that I live less than 10 minutes away from the venue, so even if multiple trips were needed, it’s not a problem.
I’m not certain it makes sense, but I’ve also got a DVD player that could be connected to remove the laptop requirement if someone wanted to create a suitable DVD… maybe a compilation YouTube videos or something.
Finally, I have an old fashioned projector that has a pretty short throw that might be usable, even in that bright light. Again, it would need to be tested. And it would need to be set up so folks didn’t block it by walking in front, but that would provide an option for a pretty large image.
