I second the XL statement.
I’m wishing as I try to justify the purchase, and save the money, the price might come down.
However, I’m also not holding my breath on that one.

Printing the parts takes another 14 hours. Big oof. I do not need to print the buffer though, not gonna use that.
I have my dryboxes with the included easy peasy super cheasy buffers.
Looking at the assembly instructions they massively changed a few critical parts of the Nextruder I complained about a year ago. Neat.
Update - since I can’t go to RMRRF and I managed to get some free tickets to the Prusa User Group meetup in Sydney we hastily made our plans for next week.
Perspective - Sydney is about the same distance from my place as Geneva is from @Tokoloshe but accomodation is not as economical as it is in Geneva and it’s school holidays in that state so Caravan parks are at a premium.
My one week road trip for a “free” seminar and visit to a “free” tech exhibition as well as catching up with a few friends on the way to be fair, will cost more than the price of a new MK#$ plus MMU!! ![]()
How can anyone complain about the price of a Prusa? ![]()
And for me that’s like, really, really far. I would not even think about going that far. ![]()
A little appreciation post here:
I used my sauna to print polycarbonate gears for the differential on the 3dsets car. Using the sauna as a heated chamber was a bad idea. The thermostat and temperature gauge is not accurate, so the temperature must have been higher than 70-80c. This caused sagging in the idler lever on the nextruder, leading to underextrusion. Spending several sessions with support helped troubleshoot and fix the issues! They even offered to send the parts if I couldn’t get a usable print. Furthermore, I’ve been plagued with warping. More support sessions led us to believe that the old IPA was losing it’s strength, so I got a new bottle. And now it’s all order again! I’m super thankful for the patient support agents at Prusa, even helping out when it’s my own(or my saunas??) fault.
So, thumbs up to Prusa customer support - and a friendly reminder that old IPA might be bunk!
AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! Why always meeeeee?? I had the broken screen for the MK4, now this. Funniest thing about all this. The printer and MMU work fine as long as the USB cable is plugged in. It does not have to be plugged in anywhere else…
Here is a video of me showing it to the support:
He was really confused and was making jokes about it not being October yet and the MMU being haunted. He didn’t have an answer, but it’s working fine with the USB plugged in…
So for the time being I can live with that. They will get back to me after dealing with my error logs and the video.
@Tokoloshe , how did you figure that out? That’s really strange.
Trial and error. I thought it had to do with the Firmware not being flashed and decided to try booting with USB plugged in. After that worked I was trying shit for the lulz. ![]()
Hmm, first thought is that there is an incorrect resistor value but hopefully it’s just a firmware problem that can easily be solved by flashing an update. Best of luck! Can’t wait to see how you use it.
I don’t mind what they do, changing the board is done in a few minutes.
I am really interested in what it turns out to be. ![]()
See, that’s why you’ll never be an influencer! You need to put out two full length videos heaping crap on the machine and the company telling the world how disappointed you are and then some nameless company making knockoffs will send you a freebie, so you can wax lyrical about what great value it is and how no money has changed hands (don’t forget to click my affiliate link) then move on to the next big thing.
Where’s the joy in having all that customer support helping you? ![]()
I actually thought about doing a video of the Nextruder mod since there isn’t one yet and highlight that everything I mentioned as problems a year ago was actually changed or altered, but then I was too keen on getting it working. ![]()
Next goal is to make it print TPU. ![]()
I’ve been confirmed that the issue that your MMU3 is experiencing is something known to us and that our Developers are currently working to fix. The fix for it should be relatively close to being released (most likely on next firmware).
Our suggestion at the moment would be the following:
- Continue to print with the USB cable attached while the fix is released
- If possible, perform a Hard Factory Reset, please let us know if that helps.
Things I am not going to do: A Hard Reset. ![]()

Do the Easy one.

Getting somewhere. 50 cent Benchy, 3€ wipe tower…
2.5 hours to go, all in all around 500 colour changes. My drybox buffers are doing okay, but not brilliantly. Might need to use the original one after all. Boo!
Done. I am really surprised it all worked so well.
Five colours, blue and black are really similar, though. ![]()
Surprised by the size of the purge tower! They say Prusa’s purge waste is much less than Bambu, wonder how much filament the Bambu would use for the same print.
To be fair, at some points of the cabin the colour is being changed four times for just tiny dots of colour, you can see it in the post above. I made sure to include as many changes as possible, 510 in total.

Besides, I think I would always try to activate the wipe into object and put print plates together that can utilize that. Depending on the time. Hmm, all so new. Now I gotta figure out a TPU profile… ![]()
