MP3DP V4 Build

That thick zip tie could actually be the issue. If the leveling is still off find something more flexible. Mine are all just the wires and a wire sleeve. They do not sag into the work area, but they also do not stay at the ~30 angle.

That extruder can whip around pretty fast so the smaller and lighter the better.

I JUST installed that. We will see how it does when the print finishes

Ok this one went MUCH better. They are all smooshed into the bed. The top left got pulled off at the end. His code doesn’t like my end gcode. Taking that out and going to bump my z offset up a little and run again. I guess my wires were too tight this whole time and messing up the mesh

You might just want to slice your own, Printables.

That is good that that is sorted out.

Was at 3.65mm. Now at 3.55mm

So come to find out adding custom end gcode doesn’t take out his end code. it just adds it after. His code drags the nozzle across the bed then disables all motors. So I went in and deleted his end gcode and put mine in. Running it again so that hopefully ill still have a corner square to measure off of. Also bumping the z offset up another .05mm

I ended up modifying my umbilical so that it was no longer attached to the back of the printer. I printed a plastic slot and I let the umbilical slide across the back of the printer. I have a large wire sleeve/wrap on mine too so that it’s slick.

I don’t think the zip ties are near as stiff as I made them sound. I’m going to end up changing mine all up. I ordered 1/4" acrylic to make the panels out of so once I get that and get it milled I will then rewire everything and have it all set up correctly. By then I’ll have a better idea how this does and decide more on what to do. Waiting to see how the guys running the extra board (what its called is escaping me right now) like it. That would cut down on a lot of the wires for sure.

Looking closer at your pics… your wire rap seems a lot “stiffer” than the stuff i have. Mine doesn’t seem to give that kind of definition to the wires like yours does.

Its as dead on as i can see from the naked eye using a tape measure starting at 10mm to take out the possible skew of the end.

Do you have a smooth PEI sheet? I think it shows differences in height better. I also worry about the variances of the probe hitting in the peaks and valleys.

Try slicing one yourself, I have not used that test of his and if it is not obeying the ending gcode maybe it is a bit wonky.

None of my V4’s have ever been that far off. I only had issues like that with the Repeat when the rails cracked.

Does the bed physically level in 4-5 tries, or does it take all 8?

No I don’t. I have one that is smoother…but still textured. I do have a glass bed on my CR10s Pro that is pretty close to the same size. I can set that on there if you think it will make a difference.

I was able to get it to work by just deleting his little bit of ending code and putting the one you gave me in. That worked much better. But i can see if i can find an STL for one if need be.

I don’t believe it takes all 8 but I haven’t actually counted or watched the terminal either. I will run it again now and watch the terminal and see what it comes up to.

Ran it again and it leveled in 4 tries

Hooked octoprint back up so I can get a get a better idea of what’s going on. Again it did G34 in 4 tries

I may have missed it, but how is your bed mounted to the bed plate and how is the bed plate mounted to the stepper mounts?

These numbers are all with the bed hot

Screws with springs from the bedplate to the brace, the brace is flat on the stepper mounts with the spring on top.
