Minnetonka, Minnesota Primo Build

I love the name Glowrider…That’s going to be my nickname for this robot!

I see you are a man of culture as well.

They wanted me to call my Ghostrider Glowrider… He has found someone it seems. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I:
Installed the spoil board

surfaced the spoil board, noticed the router needed to be trammed

VIDEO: surfacing Spoil board

VIDEO: Needs Tramming

got out the pwncnc tramming device and a dial indicator…

WOW it was really out of true

proceeded to do something I knew would be stupid…but I did it anyway

I got a small hammer and "tapped on the router mount to try to adjust it.

OOPS! Plastic parts don’t like to be “tapped” with a hammer.

Well now I get to re-design the Freud Router mount to make it adjustable for tramming (without) “tapping” it with a hammer.

Wow, dude. Your first project looks better than my last ones after three years with the CNC. Those inlays are spot on, really. :exploding_head: :tada:

Glowrider helped with its 3rd cutting board inlay today.

Well I bit a the bullet and upgraded to a 1.5kw air cooled spindle.

Also got my first customer order so it’s justified:

about 20 minutes away. I live in Minnetonka. Well, that’s in the thread title so you already know that.

Anyway, are you in Minneapolis?

Cool

Presumably, you have an MPCNC as well. I think I’ll get a year out of this Primo before I upgrade to a Low Rider for something more rigid.

Maybe when the weather is warmer we could tag team on a project.

Something where you gather some raw material like some walnut, and maple for example and I gather some material like some bubinga and Hickory. Then, we exchange the raw materials and documented our builds separately. Then, we can meet and see what each other has come up with.

No challenge, just a fun way to see what someone else could come up with using some things that were lying around in our shops.

If you’re interested let me know and we can exchange contact info (offline)

Bring the odd man on the lowrider beta team, I had never used or built a lowrider, but have now built 3 of them. One of them was a cannibalized version of my mpcnc. Now i only have the Lowrider beta.

I can build these and make them run. Based on what I’ve seen of your work, you know how to use these systems. I think if we exchanged stuff, I’d be getting the better end of that deal. I’m watching your thread with interest. I do have a live edge piece and would be interested to see what could be done with it. I was told it is walnut, but the coloring is wrong, so Im not sure what it is. Size wise it is roughly 14x18x2". Does that sound interesting?

Yes I have a slab of cherry about that size. You can email me and we can work out the details.

The first customer order is nearly finished. Here is the board with its first coat of mineral oil.
