Kobalt router

Are You talking about Carbide 3D?

Anyway in EU It’s everything expensive… a makita cost about 200€, so pay 170$ for a er11 router would be ok.

Nah, the Kobalt one.

I think the idea is if this does well they will broaden the market, we made a few suggestions about just that that could result in a design change that would be cool and unique.

I think two or three of the ancient ones like Jeff and Dan from the beginning and four or five that got a prototype at a later date for making videos.

You could try this https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07FQ9NVYF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I’ve had one for a year and it works well on the LR3 (I don’t use it much, so I don’t know if it will last as long as the Makita)

Photographic evidence?

My question is, I’m still in the return window for the makita. Should I return it and grab me a kobalt?

I don’t think some friendly advice would violate a nda

I don’t know anything special but it seems better. You can always return it to Lowes if you don’t like it.

It’s cheaper, uses ER-11 collets, and has a longer warranty.

Edit: and comes with both 1/4" and 1/8" collets

Thanks for the advice, but I already have 2 of them, and actually I’m using a Makita RT702c on my LR3.

The Katsu is a good router to be used manually, but on CNC is crap. The power seems to be the same, but the lack of a real speed regulator makes it useless:

You start with a chipload, it start and reduce rpm due to the torque, so the chipload increases and the torque get higher e so on.
During all the “stressful” situation for the machine, the rpm gets low, increasing the load.
For reduce the problem You can start with increased rpm, to match the right value under load, but during finishing passes and drilling You will generate a lot of heat and burn the wood and the mill.

My suggestion is to spend more when we are talking about the router😁

Good summary…from what I am seeing here.
