Yes sir, had some stronger winds and a few small tornados a few miles north of here
Couldn’t agree more!

Well I believe I have all the parts I need printed for the Pre-Gate Sensors, but I cant get none of it to fit together lol. I get it lined up and press it in, then it pushes back out. Going to have to do some research and figure out what the hell I’m doing wrong lol
Super interested in this build. Been wanting to do one also. Where does the cut tip end up? I have been trying to figure that out for a while now and just can’t seem to make it work in my head.
I believe if you do the tool head cutter it stays in the hot end to get purged out. For the EREC which is what I’m doing there is an add on shoot and try you can print to go underneath it to catch all of the tips. I guess without that they just go on the floor LOL.
Working on upgrading the extruder/hotend on the V5 right now then hopefully back to work on the ERCF! I’m ready to see it do something LOL
I did get all of the pre gate sensors/coupling blocks mounted up last night. But now I have to take them back off because I forgot the short PTFE tubes between them and the gates. Nice thing is everything should be pretty sealed up and I wont have much to worry about in way of humidity getting to the filament. Hopefully so anyways lol
Ummm… mine just came from China in 2 days. How even? Filament for the parts aren’t even here yet… HA! I’ll be starting a build thread to I suppose. So many upgrades, so little time.
Awesome! Are you planning a standard build or doing any extras? Make sure you take a look at the RC2 version of the github. It has some updated parts in it
RC2 is still in beta, but I’m a risk taker Is that the build you are currently using?
I’m currently running a stealthburner, galileo 2, and nitehawk toolhead board setup on a Voron v2 350, so I’ll do pretty much standard. Filametrix upgrade the extruder first most likely, then cotton tail buffer.
Thanks for the heads up on RC2, I would have missed it.
My 1st aliexpress was 2 months ago for dual z for my ender. I hadtk go to the post office to get it!! They flagged it for counterfeit postage. When i challenged it they decided it was good. They said there had been alot of counterfeit postage lately
The only RC2 parts I have are the Pre Gate switches and mounts for that. I didn’t find out about it until I was already done with the main prints. I don’t want to run Cotton Tail because of the filament being open air. Its always so humid here it goes quick. I’m also running the Kevinakasam EREC instead of the tool head cutter.
One lady…150mil, USPS loses out on millions of dollars from one postage counterfeiter
I’ve been thinking about that. What if you just enclosed the whole thing? It could be a dry box as well as MMU. The top could flip up, kind of like a top hat
It would have to be a pretty big box to hold all of that and all of the filament. The way I did it you can have your filament in dry boxes like normal and its fed with PTFE tube to the pre gate switches, then from there through a short ptfe to the gates.
I see. Can’t wait to see it!
LOL Meeeeee toooooo
Hopefully get a chance to work on it more tomorrow
My kit literally arrived before my filament! HA! Nothing for me to do yet
Looking good!! I wanted to do a build log and share but it’s been so crazy I just didn’t have time to document it all.
Mines all done I just gotta figure out the firmware, configs and calibration. Are you running toolhead sensors? I installed 2 into my hotend for the filametrix but can’t find any docs on where to plug em in and stuff. I still have to read through the firmware docs and stuff so I’m sure I’ll figure it out in due time. I think I’m also going to go with the Filamentalist rewinders at some point. They are just expensive to build.
Looking good! I have mine almost to the same point. I messed up and didn’t print my pre gate blocks out of clear. They are orange like the rest of mine. I am about to try and flash the board now.
No I didn’t add any. I am hoping that my Orbiter V2 filament sensor can act as one of them. There is no room on my tool head to add one below the extruder that I can tell. But I’m not running the “supported” tool head either.
Yes I have 3 of those built now and another printed. They are quite expensive to build but they seem to work well. Time will tell LOL
Wow, look at you GO!!! What will be your first multi color or multi material print??
Yes sir, Save for some old school flashforge dual extruders
I’m still running some of those- they just keep going for me.
It is nice to be able to do prints with incompatible materials (e.g. PLA+ and PETG can be supports for each other- but if you alternate those through a single hotend you will have nothing but failures.)
I’m following the ERCF builds with interest.
