Looks like they moved on you on the last pass…
Yea I realized it’s an excuse to make a vacuum table !!
Well that is for sure one way to fix it! If you end up doing that please make a build thread about it so we can follow along!
Dang JJ, great work. From stumbling to get started to across the finish line in half a day. High five!!!
Laithrayyan, Nice work, sticking with it. I promise it gets much easier each time.
Thank y’all! Amazing community will be posting more about a couple other issues I discussed with Jonathan here soon.
I know you’ve still got some stuff to figure out but you’re well on your way. Seeing someone go from this:
to this in a day:
It doesn’t get old. You’re in for a fun journey. Enjoy the ride!
I have been doing this for a while, but with long pauses between projects. It really sunk in when I did repetitive Christmas ornaments for my wife. It helps to use ALOT, not here and there! Congrats!
I don’t see any tabs. Were there any in the EstlCAM file?
Hey Britt, what do you mean by tabs?
Holding tabs. It slipped my mind to tell you to make sure and add some. That will stop your board from moving when it cuts through. You just have to manually cut the tabs after and sand smooth.
I wouldn’t need those if I build a vacuum table, right? Also, general question what software is available for free to make the DXF or SVG files before I enter it in ESTLCAM.
Theoretically no you wouldnt. But I have zero experiance with a vacuum table so I will leave that for the few around here that do.
Onshape is what I use the most. There is also a free hobby license for Fusion. FreeCAD has been talked about a lot lately as well. I am sure there are plenty others as well.
