Help with Setup and First Cut

First thing I notice is you have several part cut operations, but you should only have 2. In estlcam save the project and upload the .e12 file please. You will have to right click on that file and compress to ZIP file to upload it to the forum

strut_plate corrected.zip (135.6 KB) i think i got it, i was clicking too many times on the part

Perfect.

First thing I see, your job is set up to cut with a pencil, so I dont think that will do a very good job with your strut plates.

Second I would not set your depth per pass at 6.5mm on your 1/8" bit with no struts on. I would take the total depth you want to cut and divide that by 3 or 4 and set your Z+ for that bit at that number…

Be careful clicking around with drill selected. You have a few random holes that I don’t think you want to be there…

Looking at your second one. You still have the pencil selected as your tool for the operation, but then you set your 1/8" bit for the finishing pass…

still running but is there a obvious reason it isn’t going through?

How thick is your board? What did you set the DOC to?

1/4 in plywood. DOC?

Depth of Cut. Not per pass but total

6.3mm

That’s probably why. Need to go a little deeper than the thickness of the board. I would go 7mm.

Whoah…You got to talk to a celebrity!

Should I restart on another side or can I repeat it since it knows its position and run over it again?

I was even Lucky enough to talk to him over Google Call too!!!

When it finishes just make sure it goes back to X0 Y0, the machine Zeroed when your job started. That should make it where you can run it again and save what you have. Worth a shot anyways. Worst case just move over a little and start over.

Idk who lied to you, but I am for sure no celebrity!

Lies.
