Help with first print

We recently had an Ikea show up locally, so I was searching for a good Ikea solution (like the LACK printer cabinets) but didn’t find anything specific. Do you have a ‘recipe’?

I’m actually rather impressed with this bin - it’s heavier duty than I’d expected, and looks like it’ll hold up real well over time without cracking like I’ve seen so many sterilite boxes do..

@Michael_Melancon suggested the ones to me like @azab2c posted and that’s what I have. Various sizes. The price is good at Walmart and so far they have lasted me real well. The handles have been the only thing I have had issues with, but that was from me opening one side and tilting the lid up. I found some printable replacement handles on the line and that got me fixed right up.

@zero_indexed how are your parts looking now that you have done all your tuning and drying your filament?

I have a different one, but I’d do those now: IKEA 365+ Drybox & Auto rewind Storage Box for 2 Spools supporting eSun, Extrudr, Spectrum, R3d and more by CL Performance | Download free STL model | Printables.com

So far everything is looking great! I’m trying to save some of my future sanity by labeling each part as it comes off the printer:

I’m currently printing some risers for my 4-spool drybox bin, but I checked the hygrometer this am and looks like the desiccant @MakerJim suggested is working way better than I’d hoped! I only dried half of the spools in here, and then not even for terribly long:

Very good idea!!! Parts are looking great!

That’s GREAT! I got some in but haven’t swapped any in yet. I did print some larger desiccant holders for my Qidi Box and plan to put some in there for sure.

I want to give these a try. Commenters say they’re good for desiccant, and they should be able to hold up to baking without the need to open them.

I’ve never tried anything like that. In my totes I just printed a base that has feet similar to the base on the spool holders for the Rubbermaid cereal boxes. I don’t print from my larger totes those are just for storage. But I pour desiccant in the bottom and the printed base plate keeps the filament above it.

No. But I am kinda pissed I didn’t get a personalized Christmas card from FPL. As much as I pay them I sure should have!

I was at their plant in Seabrook, NH for a software support visit once.

Providing or receiving?

When buying the kit from the V1 shop here, what’s the usual turn around between order and shipping?

If you order today you should get a notification email with a tracking number tomorrow, Tuesday at the latest. But Ryan is pretty on the ball with getting orders out. That man is a machine!!!

Make sure you get the SD card with your order if your going with the Jackpot. His price is the same or better than you will be able to find on Amazon for the correct class SD card needed. The newer high GB sd cards don’t play nice in these boards. Personally I would also get the fan and touch plate, but those are all optional.

I still have several days of printing left to do, not to mention checking up a large enough space to start building the table..

Yes sir. But wanted to answer your question honestly lol. For a one man band he is on it for sure!

Appreciated! I’m surprised he’s running solo - this seems like a decently large community. I’m getting pretty excited to start assembly.. need to figure out how permanent of a table I want to build, as I later want to look into putting together a table like Ryan designed.
