Firmware questions about tft's

Does anyone know anything about the CNC support? Did it all come to nothing?

Hi,

You have an extremely open-ended question there, that you asked in a 2-year-old thread.

If you would like to be a little more specific, there are lots of us to help.

I’m not sure what you mean. The TFT firmware fully supports the Marlin systems we use them on. They just happen to still have icons related to 3D printing. For reasons.

Yes, please tell us more about your machines and your use cases so we can be sure you aren’t a SPAMbot setting up for eventual mayhem.

Sorry, I didn’t finish reading the thread. I saw they stopped supporting the CNC firmware. I asked what happened to it because I tried installing it several times, but I always got 3D printer icons. Thank you so much for the work you did years ago; it’s exactly what I need now.

It will always have some specific printer icons. The custom skins we did were way too much work to just remove an icon. Just ignore them it works 100% fine on a CNC as is.

Just to clarify, the CNC icons were a custom firmware that was created by one of the members here. The custom firmware needed to be recreated every time BTT updated the base firmware.

Eventually the rate of upgrades from BTT became too much for the member to keep up with, and the custom screens were abandoned.

You can still do everything you need to do with the standard screens and icons, even though they were designed for 3D printing rather than CNC.
