In the middle of a CYD pendant build using the stock 2.8” 240x320 pixel display
Wondering if anyone has thought about using a larger say 5” 480x800 pixel display ?
What’s involved in the coding to make it work ?
They were working on a version for a 7 inch display but that project seems to have died. There hasn’t been any activity on the Discord thread since February.
Changing to a higher resolution screen is a ton of work.
Get a windows tablet (im using a surface pro 3 ) get the ui onto that and be happy. (You can get them really cheap on ebay)

Mighty fine it is too. 
Mitch and Bart are unlikely to embrace many more screens.
They put tons of work into getting it to run on a very specific screen, release it, and rather than people making donations for using it as-is, they get flooded with requests to port the system to some other random (even slightly different) dispaly that would require even more hard work.
It’s a complete de-motivator to them.
On the other hand, some- like our own @jeyeager create something really cool on their own time, using hardware they have available, and give back to the community.
If you have the skills to port to a new target device, then go for it and we’ll all be excited to see the results and build one. If not, then encourage and support those that do.
Jason’s work has me chomping at the bit to try a FluidTouch build, even though I already have CYDs and M5Stack pendants.
