Buying the Jackpot 1

I noticed on the website you don’t have any jackpot 1 boards, but I would like to buy one

Is there a reason you want the JP1 over the JP3?

It’s there. Here’s the page for it: Jackpot CNC Controller – V1 Engineering Inc

As Britt noted, they’re still in the shop. The V1 is probably not going anywhere because it has a few niche use cases. That said, for most users buying a new board we’d recommend the V3 board.

Here’s a link to discussion of the differences:

Just went to purchase one and it’s showing as “sold out” in the store and at Elecrow. Now that the Jackpot 3 is readily available has the Jackpot 1 reached the end of the road?

I already have spare drivers and esp32 devkits that I’d like to be able to use so much prefer the modular approach.

Vaguely recall Ryan saying something like… JackPot 1 and JackPot 3 will both be available for as long as people keep buying them.

I will not have anymore at elecrow.

I should have one more small batch here at the shop soon. Same price as the 3.

What makes you want a Jackpot 1 over a 3?

I just built my v4 with the jackpot 1 - I don’t think the 3 was out or available then (sept/Oct 25 timeframe). is there a reason I need the 3 over the first edition?

No. :slightly_smiling_face:

The three has more value per dollar. No sense in waiting for a 1 when you get more for your money with a 3 unless for some reason you want the pluggable components.

If you already have a build you will need to print a new boardbox though.

Jackpot V3 would be my recommendation in general but there are specific use cases still for jackpot v1:

Need to use an external antenna (e.g going into a metal box)

Want modularity

Want ability to fast switch modules (software development)

Anything but those id get a V3

OK, if the V1 has been dropped I’ll order a few unpopulated PCBs from JLCPCB. Is this V1.2.1 layout the most recent?

They appear to be in stock in the V1E store.
