Man, facing aluminium is hard (the “gap” on the left is not my fault, the stock was shit). I absolutely do not have the right endmill for it…
The slotting with trochoidal was brutally fast though, 1800mm/min and it definitely wasn’t the limit, the endmill got really hot again. ![]()
Where’s your air blast nozzle?
Don’t have one. Wasn’t needed, I mostly do wood.
Oh, that looked like aluminium to me. My bad. ![]()
Grml… You know what I mean. ![]()
Seriously, air blast on the tool will do wonders without the mess of coolant.
I am contemplating an ATC… But only in a year or so, then I can add all the toys. Priority are a belt and drum sander though. I hate sanding…
If you have a compressor, you could add air blast and even isopropyl alcohol fairly inexpensively. If you don’t have a compressor then its a bigger investment.
I don‘t, but it’s on my list. ![]()
I know the feeling I’ve lost an amana 1/4” bit today.
How much? Sorry for your loss.
32€. For a 30€ job which also cost me 3€ more in wood because I cant math. ![]()
Happens when you juuuuuust quickly want to do a job in between…
Had to borrow the cart from my tool store and walk back home, then back again to the store since the sheet wouldn’t fit into my car… Which I somehow didn’t see coming… ![]()
You live within walking distance from the hardware store!?! I would be broke.
1.2km by foot.
It’s a Hornbach, so mostly consumer stuff. I sometimes buy screws there and scrapwood and occasionally some cheap wood, they don’t have “real” wood beside fir.
Since I have a registered business I can get wood a lot cheaper delivered to my door from another retailer. ![]()
This is going to be interesting. ![]()
Still missing the compressor and the water pump. But that needs to wait a bit because my pocket money is all used up. ![]()
Exciting! What do you want/hope to gain with this spindle?
It’s an automatic tool changer.
Need to buy some more stuff for it to work. Water pump, compressor for the air etc.
