Another Florida Build... LR3 #2

They are, truely amazing human accomplishments. But this is on it’s own level :grinning:

All I had was 27 hummers in the Army, but 20 of them were TOW carriers, (tube launched optically tracked wire command) missiles

I have to say, I did not know they moved themselves. I thought they were assembled out there, that is kinda cool!!!

That storm front with four 245’ sails standing. Did you have to reef them? :open_mouth:

No sir. We kept right on. Highest winds we saw with that were 30kts and only for a min or 2. We are good for over 60kts.

Funny thing is, yes the legs to catch a ton of wind. As does the cabin on the boat. But that’s always here and I’m just used to that. But since they put these 5 buildings on the front it feels like they catch 3 times the wind lol

We are making our way into Rhode Island this morning. Sure hope this fog clears or it’s not going to be a very entertaining time lapse

Don’t have the Timelapse yet but here are a few from right at the bridge…

Once I get the Timelapse uploaded I will link it here as well. Also just got word that one of the guys from the company we are working for was flying his drone when we went though the bridge. He said he would send me the pics/videos so once I get them I will upload as well

Here are the time lapse videos. First one is from offshore through the bridge. Second one is after the bridge to the dock

That is literally awesome. It is amazing that much precision can be done by such enormous machines with human operators. So much attention to detail and preparation. And then a perfect execution.

You should be very proud. That is really amazing work.

My favorite is the zoomed in view of the leg passing under the bridge. The line it draws on the bridge is not a straight line or a pure sinusoid. It was obviously bobbing and also sliding to the side.

Thanks @jeffeb3!! It doesn’t seem like much to us because we are so used to it. And yes we were definitely bobbing. You can see in the first time lapse when I get close to the bridge we slowed down and the bobbing starts. We had to drop the legs down to make it under the bridge. Bridge is 194’ the legs are 245’. We had 140’ of water so I dropped them down 80’ to give plenty of clearance. The legs are very buoyant so it changes things and gives it the bob. Very uneasy feeling for me lol.

Excitement keeps the job from getting boring.

Still a lot to do and don’t mind the mess all around lol. Also apparently I can’t measure. At least not how Ryan explains lol. So I’ll have to slide the rail over tomorrow. But it’s home for now

@vicious1 Any reason I cant leave the ribbon cables off of the TFT and just use the black cable? Since the last update I only use touch screen mode. And I’m hoping to get the esp01 working on this one and get used to running that way for when I can get my hands on a jackpot board.

Nope, all good.

Still mucking with the wiring. Have Z2 and X left to do. I did try to power it up once I had Z1 and Y1 connected and the screen shows no printer attached and never goes away. I triple checked the wiring for the screen and it is correct. Any ideas???

Board and TFT are from V1 shop when I ordered the LR3 kit so the firmware should be accurate.
