I tried adjusting it in the firmware by adjusting the Z probe offset, but it doesn’t appear to have made any difference. Is there another part of the firmware i need to adjust?
I’m using RAMBO 1.4 running marlin, dual endstop firmware.
That is correct. It’s a fairly common China z touch off plate with an alligator clip. It works great but I have to touch the alligator clip to the plate when my bit reaches the material. I would like to be able to set the offset so I can set the touchplate on top of the material (it’s .75” thick) and put the alligator clip on the cutting bit to get an exact measurement when the bit comes down and touches the plate on zhome.
So after hitting z home and it stops on the touch plate, enter G92 Z 19.05 That will tell the firmware that the end of the end mill is 19.05mm above zero. In repetier you can add that to one of the numbered macros.
The alligator clip should be connected to the bit in your router. Any chance there’s a coating on the bit that doesn’t provide an electrical circuit when it hits?
