Z movement distance

My MPCNC
SKR PRO 1.2
2209 DRIVERS
TFT 35 E3 V3.0.1
DUAL ENDSTOPS

MPCNC is running perfectly minus the z axis. I command it 10mm but it only moves 3mm. I checked the steps per mm and they were at
x 100
y 100
z 400

Changing the z to 1600 got me to a actual 10mm move. I did notice i bought a different leadscrew that the one in the store. Difference being 1 start Amazon.com

And as i type this i see the 4 start leadscrew is set for 400 steps per mm and since i have a 1 start leadscrew, 4x400 = 1600 steps per mm.

So is it ok to run it like this or should i buy the correct lead screw. I do not want to mess up a driver or motor

You can run like that. The steppers lose torque at higher rpms. You may have to reduce the top speed of the Z axis. Something like 5mm/s is a good conservative number for 12V.

M203 Z5

And if you like that, M500 to save it to the next boot.

Awesome, great news. Thank you
