Did I read somewhere that @vicious1 said the milled plates don’t have any real advantage over milled plates, or am I going crazy? Definitely can’t find it now.
(edit, yes I’m going crazy, that should have been “over printed plates”…but I’m leaving it because it’s funnier).
Milled plates are for sure cooler, and I bought a stack of aluminiunuminam offcuts so I have plenty, but it’s less work on my part to slice and print, and my time is a hot commodity right now.
mehhh… so how long has his word been gospel around here?
We are a fickle lot, and with milled plates pretty much de rigueuer these days, I suspect printed plates might end up being retro-cool before you know it.
BTW you have a typo, so your post reads “milled plates don’t have any real advantage over milled plates” which seems fair.
I not only upgraded my printed plates to milled, I went to steel… and cannot identify any improvement. That does mean I have a pair of 70% infill PLA XZ parts spare… and a bunch of other stuff… maybe I’ll build another.
