Wiring confusion

Hey all,

I have my machine built and I am working on the wiring for it.

The connector harnesses I received do not match the harnesses in the online instructions.

It would seem obvious based on the plugs which ones go to the steppers and which go to the board and maybe I am over thinking it, but the pinouts on the male plugs don’t make sense to me. I’ll try to explain as best as I can.

So the female plug for the board is blue, red, green, black. As seen in the picture the blue and green branch off to the male plug on the left and plug into the same pins as the female plug. The red and black from the female plug goes off to the plug on the right, but does not keep the say pin locations as the female plug like the one on the left does.

Both of the harnesses I received are like this, am I overthinking this and not understanding the steppers properly? Or is there a mistake that I need to remedy?

Thanks in advance!

the Blue wire in the female end corresponds with the blue and red wires on the male ends. Other way to remember is that all the plugs should have the same side facing up (ie the side with the metal contacts.

Thanks for your response!

So I saw that in the instructions online but since the harness was different I was not sure if it still held true.

Makes it a lot easier now so just go with that setup. Thank you very much for your time.

Safe enough to ignore wire colors and assume they are aligned correctly as needed. Then it is a matter of plugging into the board. If the motor turns correct direction, you are good to go, if it goes opposite, just unplug and turn over the one connector at the control box pins. Make sure power is off when connecting or disconnecting stepper wires or any for that matter.
