Oh yeah. Been there with the manual milling machine. Crunching sounds followed by a string of words that sounds like a Harry Potter spell in prison have definitely happened in my shop.
Once I get this router how I want it, the plan is to build a plasma cutter as well. So hopefully I get all the oops out of my system with the first machine.

Hi James. Reminds me of when I started using my LR4 with the sd card. However, things have evolved and I now use the Jackpot controller with Fluid-NC in STA mode along with an App called Fluid Control which is loaded on my old android tablet. The tablet is connected to the LR4 via a standalone WiFi network in my workshop which is created using an old router we no longer use. My Gcode is saved to the tablet and then run using the App. I have run files exceeding 900 000 lines and taking 4hrs to complete with no issue at all.
The key is that your Wifi is stable. I have not tried this using our home Wifi Network as I am concerned with instability as mentioned above in other responses. This is why I am using an old router on its own, right next to the LR4, to set up a stand-alone network that is used for nothing else but to send GCode and control the LR4 and it has worked faultlessly to date with this arrangement.
