V5 #1 The Plated Printer

I’m weighing this.
I just put an order in to get my builds rolling again…

I really like that back panel layout.

Same bro…. lol

Open a new cad and see what the 3 bed pieces measure out at. And then change the size and see if they change. If they do let me know what you need and I will cut them and put them in the box when I mail you the broken boards

Guessing everyone has room for filament spool to be inside the chamber (back/right)?

I don’t think that would fit, as is.

I always planned for my spool to feed from the outside. I feel like this might have been addressed in the design thread, but don’t remember for sure

A spool easily fits on mine on the left or right but I would not use mine that way, mine are always outside. I had it inside at RMRRF for a little bit.

does it?? Maybe I have a skewed idea of the size of a spool in my head lol

I never tried measuring or anything, but those seem huge to me sitting here thinking about it

My spools are 67mm wide, I have 95mm room.

I did plan on bringing in the side and back to put the spool and electronics in the printer footprint but still have them “outside” the chamber.

I’m sure it would fit. But I don’t ever run mine inside the printer so idk how well it would work lol.

All of mine feed from above the printer on a shelf

I really prefer the electronics out of the build volume, and all of my machines have the spool outside (usually on back side or above)

I’ll start collecting the CAD that’s available sometime in the early part of this week.

I need to get ORob’s octopus up on the bench and see if I can fix or white wire repair the blown regulator.
I got all of the dead stuff Ryan sent me fixed with the exception of one TFT35- so I’m feeling up to the challenge of fixing stuff.

Awesome! Well as stated in the other thread I expect no guarantees. But if your willing to try Ill sure send them to you. And throw in the bed mount parts since I’m already shipping that way lol.

Okay…I found an issue.

Both of my H2 extruders crapped out. Emailed BTT, pulled the extruders from the shop.

If you saw the printer at RMRRF this is what was causing the extrusion issues.

Jim, I should I cancel your order or just remove the H2? Wanna wait on the order to see what is going on?

That’s crazy! One of my H2 V2S Lites is starting to make some not so happy sounds every so often as well. Scared to take it apart and see what’s wrong lol.

Planning to attempt to model up a mount for an orbiter V2 and Rapido HF. Running that on anther printer and it just out performs in every way

Just remove the H2.
If you feel motivated, throw other dead / return parts in the box like last time.

The extruder is $57?
Feel like a offering a slightly discounted set of LR3 YZ plates?

Every time I wiped the bed on #1 it had black dust on it, I was going nuts trying to figure out why…now I know.

I will been looking at some extruders this afternoon. I have a sherpa here but I think the new orbiter has filament detection built in. DANG…

I haven’t messed with the Orbiter V3 yet. But the V2 I have has filament detection that is an add on. But not motion. Not sure if the V3 has motion or not.

I know I ran a max flow test to 50 mm³ and it was keeping up with that no problem.

Looks like that filament drive gear could use some needle bearings on either side. Yikes!
