I know a couple of you here are in the MillMage beta group, but if there are others who aren’t and are keen to, we’re looking to add to the testing group.
V-carving already supports:
Normal V-bits (duh)
Flat-tip V-bits (Tapered End Mill)
Ball-end V-bits (Tapered Ball Mill)
You can also specify a last-pass stepover different than the clearing pass stepover
It doesn’t yet support a separate clearing bit, but I’m working on that soon.
The latest beta also has:
Offset pockets with support for stepovers > 50%
Pockets generated with our internal offset code
Centerline trace
Our new pro nesting solution (doesn’t support nesting into an arbitrary shape, but does do proper true nesting otherwise)
If you want access, create a user account on our LightBurn forum (if you haven’t already) and reply here with your username on the forum. I’ll get you set up.
OOOPs! you were incredibly clear! I was so deep on my excitement of my progress on my todays connection developments of MM (which again I LOVE, not to sound like a fan boy) I jumped in V1 and just too fast replied w/o following simple directions!
Don’t be mad, but coming new into a forum, without an introduction or anything, just posting the name for a beta without any other context seems pretty audacious to me.
New to being part of Forums in General. Just was excited to see them working on something that I am honestly looking forward to. If they choose me or not makes no difference in me buying it. I will get it regardless. My audacious excitement hopefully will be overlooked. Im honestly excited to be having this conversation on something that I have been hoping for as soon as I saw Millmage. About me: I am a diy machinist. I have been in the Machinist industry since 2001. I currently have a diy 4x4 Machine. I started with a acorncnc board on my original machine. Currently I am swapping that out with a pibot v4.96. It’s a GRBL base. But I like tinkering so I got it to work in a few days and I am learning a lot. I have a degree in Graphic Design and Engineering Design and Technology. I am also a proud Seabee veteran and stay at home dad. I have a store on Etsy from 2020-2025 that is currently on vacation mode because of a hip injury and shop upgrades but will reopen soon. I hope this helps and sorry for any confusion.
