Welcome to the forum! Great looking start!
Welcome aboard! Build is looking great! That will be a very good table. Love the Cousin Eddie tribute!![]()
Ok. I will bite. Where are you guys finding straight conduit? I have been to 3 box stores and sorted through probably 40 pieces of conduit. They are all bowed.
Where are you located?
When I go to the big box stores here, I sight them and roll them on the floor, more are straight than bowed (Colorado front range). Both orange and blue big box stores have straight conduit. I find more consistently straight stock at the blue one.
I find that straighter tends to coincide with busier places where the stock turns over faster, or is kept bundled.
If you strike out at big box stores, you could try an electrical supply house. If you drop by in the middle of the afternoon mid-week when they’re not busy with regular trade customers and tell them that you’re building a CNC at home and need a couple straight pieces, most will help you out happily.
Ill give it a shot. Looking at the closet rod path too. They had some cool finishes at the big orange box.
Those steel bearings wreak havoc on finishes. They don’t last long under the wear from the machine.
Well for anyone anxiously waiting - I went to yet another box and found an opened bundle of conduit. Got some straight metal. Now - has anyone seen where I placed my motivation…?
It’s hiding behind your discipline and determination.
those guys are azzholez
Nice table and i dig the hulk color👍
Welcome to your new favorite forum!!
I know it’s gauche to talk about money, but would you share how much you have invested in extruded aluminum to build that table?
Do you have any tips on the better places to buy than Temu or Aliexpress?
the extrusion was about 200 bucks all in. The fasteners were about 100 all in. I got them on amazon during their black friday thing Amazon.com That being said. it is still not 100% as ridgid as I had expected it to be. I am considering putting some strut channel under it so that it will be rock solid and moveable.
My mother-in-law had an embroidered round tuit on her refrigerator in Kansas. It was in a ziplock bag kept there by a magnet. She always seemed to have the gumption needed to get going and keep going on projects.
I wish I knew where it was today. I can’t ever seem to get a round tuit where my shop is concerned.
Looking good! ![]()
