Scale is off in Fusion 360 but not in ESTLcam

So I have a bit of a weird one. I was using ESTLcam and it’s a bit clunky but everything seemed to work. I did some work with it and things were good, everything was to scale, etc. But I usually do my designs in Fusion 360 for my 3d printer so I wanted to start using that. I loaded the post processing code from here and everything went to heck.

It turned out that the output from Fusion 360 is dramatically scaled up, about double. You can only imagine what that did to my feeds and speeds. I broke a few endmills and had some trouble before I realized what was going on. So I did a quick shallow cutout of a ruler and sure enough, scale was off by nearly double.

I’m having no issues exporting designs from fusion to ESTLcam but for some reason I can’t use the Cam software in fusion 360.

Is there any way to fix this? Has this happened before? Maybe a post processing glitch?

Maybe your units need set. There are 2.54 cm in an inch. Close enough to double. Could this be your issue?

No, units are correct because I only work in metric and I can output a file to ESTLcam or my 3D printer without scaling issues.

The Fusion PP should have some sort of units involved I think. I have not used it in at least a year though.

Interesting, it looks like choosing document default in post processing doesn’t always default to the document default. Who knew? Switched it to MM only and a mock test looks good.

I suppose there’s no reason not to upgrade to my lovely 15mm belts I bought a couple months ago. Of course then I have to sort out the belt tension system…

Meh…
