Nice. The 3mm lithography looks great.
Does Sienci’s Autospin T1 1.25hp Router enable gcode to control both RPM speed, as well as powering on/off?
EDIT: @Tylas confirmed, neat! Stumbled onto https://forum.v1e.com/t/new-router-option-sienci-labs-autospin-t1/53088 topic with details and setup for use with Jackpot/FluidNC.
Yes to both power and RPM
Awesome event. Good to see everyone again!
Nice to see you there.
Likewise, Don. Always good to cross paths.
Welcome to the V1 community forums.
Feel free to post observations of the show here, I think it only takes three or four posts before the forum lets you post pictures as well.
Anything at all from the show, this is a show experience page.
We had three awesome kids with us at the show this year.
It was so much more than that in person. I described it as “holding court” .
So many amazing young people at the show as participants and attendees.
It’s super important to support and encourage these amazing young minds. They are our future, and it’s bright.
I didn’t do much editorializing over the weekend. This is my debrief.
Before the show, I had heard rumors it might be shrinking. I was worried because these things tend to need to grow to survive.
It was huge! Over 5,000 visitors. It felt like most of them were Saturday morning.
Our booth was much closer to the front doors. It was between PRUSA, LDO, Voron, and West3D, which all had huge booths and attracted a ton of attention. We got SLAMMED.
It was so much fun. We had an amazing crew. We looked out for each other. Took care of each other (and a little taking care of each other’s kids). We met so many amazing, passionate, curious people. I also got to see a lot of people I only see here. I missed a few people that didn’t make it.
I don’t think we spent as much time socializing and drinking with other teams this year. It is fair to say we spent more quality time with our own team though.
The full size low rider on sawhorses really gave the machine a sense of accessibility as well as prowess. Having an $800 machine setup that absolutely dominated the space was attractive.
The ZenXY still pulled in a big crowd. It is always a favorite of the people who aren’t sure about this whole 3D printing thing. I’m happy to talk to them about sand tables, or transition the conversation to CNC if they are interested. A lot of people wanted a premade kit with the table and glass.
Dave’s MPCNC and chair was the first thing most people saw. The carvings are immediately impressive. To meet the artist and machine that made them also makes it seem accessible.
It’s a bummer the LR4 banner got lost in the mail. But we had the most impressive looking booth we’ve had so far. If there was anything we could use more of, it is CNC’ed stuff on the tables. I wish there were more things the size of a shoe box or bigger. We could also use some fatigue mats for our feet. Maybe more under table shelving for food, drinks, and charging devices. Maybe I’ll bring a fold up scaffold for next year.
We went through Ryan’s 400 maker coins in less than 2 hours (probably closer to 1). We went through the small pack of sandify stickers, even though I was trying to only give them out to people I thought might use sandify.
My heart and brain are full. My legs, voice, and eyes are empty. Thanks everyone for coming to Colorado for a great event! Safe travels for those of you that haven’t yet made it home.
Wonderful RMRRF ! Now I need a new job to buy all the new toys ! ![]()
The wireless spectrum during the event is pretty saturated. This is just bluetooth devices. I was seeing over 3000 wifi devices.
I’m assuming FluidTouch did not work in that environment.
I’m not sure if anyone tried it or not. We were just running the lowrider from sd card. I know it was a pain in the ass to connect to it. ![]()
Good Morning, home safe. Got a little sleep.
I was convinced this show was going to be smaller, didn’t feel that way at all. Still a handful of new hidden gems, those new innovative things that make me real excited to see in person. I am still worried about off the shelf printers knocking down the enthusiast builder market to too small to do big events like this, but it doesn’t seem that that is happening as fast as I thought. Although the builder tables in the middle where all the fun stuff usually is, was much more sparse.
It is very hard to describe what these shows are like. It almost feels like 1/3 catching up with the people we have met from coming to these things over the years, 1/3 making fun of people that “have all the parts”, “I REALLY want to build this”, or “I printed the last version, but now I need to start again and print the new version”, 1/3 “What do people do with a plotter this big?”. The gems in between are really special, I get to see first hand the “first impression” of a potential new part of our crew. Or new builds that get up the courage to give me constructive criticism about there actual build. Those last two really stick with me and I use that data to form my game plan of how I will be spending my time. The cool part, that surprised me the most, not a single person said anything about speed this time. So I think we finally hit the “fast enough” benchmark and now I need to work on ease of use, smoother build, more in-depth docs sections for after you built in and first cuts.
We will get some real head counts from the event from the RMRRF team in a day or two but I can say I was more busy than normal for sure, I really did not get to see the event at all. Normally we get a chance to see it all Saturday night but I was exhausted and needed dinner. Any time I looked up every single one of us was talking to someone, for 2 1/2 days straight. Imagine 7 of us standing nearly shoulder to shoulder talking shop with thousands of people, it is hard to wrap your head around. Then you start to get repeat visitors that come back with follow-up questions so you really have to concentrate and focus with every single conversation as you never know who might circle back and want to resume the conversation…that is pretty cool thought to know they are thinking about it enough with all that other stimulation to where them come back to get more info.
The most wild part of this all.
Is it is hard work, very long days, can get repetitive, but 11 other people took time out of their lives to travel to the event from near and far, spend all the money required to do it, many years in a row, to hang out and talk shop with complete strangers. So freaking cool, I could not stop thinking about that. Then you have to stop and think, that is just our little crew. Almost every other booth or table there has the same story…and then who knows how many of the attendees did the same thing.
I love it, but I don’t think there is a good word for the emotion that stirs up in me.
Big announcement, I am the official corporate sponsor for a 2027 Death Racer. Keep an eye out for more info. I will pass along any relevant info, that is not top secret, when my crew chief is ready to share more details.
A core on wheels with the battery powered Makita. Who’s in? ![]()
