Robotic Arm

It’s amazing how quick sci-fi becomes reality once someone has dreamt it into possibility. If AI even in its current state can start translating intent into real world actions without needing task specific programming, general purpose robots become mainstream tools overnight.

I’d love to be able to have a generic arm and an AI with no earlier knowledge of chess and I could give the command pick up the black queen and move it to F3, have the AI figure out the context, the mechanics, and do it with no specialized programming.

Don’t know if I can pull it off with cobbled together APi’s yet but that’s kind of my goal.

I don’t see a robotic arm in that video… Looks like a nice conveyor system.

Shake your hand?

Maybe start with tic tac toe

Yes, you are correct.

I was thinking that one arm would have problems with doing all those steps?

If the one arm had “gloves” for each task. It could work

I am looking at the PAROL6 robotic arm.

Any other robotic arms that you think are interesting?

The parol6 robot arm looks interesting. Would be fun to build. I work with several yaskawa robots at work.

Would be cool to see one of those with a router or spindle attached to EOAT

The parol6 robotic arm has a pnumatic gripper at the moment but it seems they are working on a electronic gripper also.

EOAT?

End of arm tool

there really is not much difference between the cnc machine and the robotic arm basically it is a gcode being sent the the motor or servo to move it the electronics are very similar. If you use WindsurfAI or cursor or even vs code you can have the AI help you with programing and even give it control after you build the arm. The AI can also help teach you about the process of building the arm and answer most question you have. AI is making great strides and with a 3d printer control board and servos there is a lot you can build
