I just discovered the MPCNC existed today via a YouTube video. The Jackpot3 board looks great and the price is also great. One problem I did notice is that by integrating stepper drivers, easy access to the direction and step outputs is removed. My intent would be to use servos, not steppers. Granted, I could solder bodge wires to the appropriate pins, but that it messy and prone to issues. Would it be possible in the 4th iteration to have a 2-pin header at each controller with those signals exposed? The signals are already being routed from the microcontroller to each driver, and six 2-pin headers would not increase the price by that much.
I’m sorry. I cannot make sense of this board. I thought I was posting this to Random or Off Topic. This is not a software issue.
There is a separate header with extra outputs you can use for a servo, if you plan on using more than one, another fluidnc board might be a better option than the jackpot3.
It doesn’t really work that way with UART on the TMC drivers and the way we communicate on the jackpot three.
There are fluidnc boards for every option you want, sounds like the jp3 is just not the perfect fit.
