Octopus v1.1 not responding/booting after kill switched during job

Anyone seen Octopus v1.1, not responding/boot after kill switched during job… (Didn’t press Reset button, but instead killed at the power strip, a shop vac was actively powered by the same strip.

Able to connect to the ESP32 running ESP3D, but sending console commands like M114 (What’s current coords) results in no response…

Hooking up PC now and will try to connect/flash. Naturally, this happened the day I’m heading down to opensauce.com and same day replacement delivery to (Bellevue, WA) isn’t an option… lol

You can send one to me, if it will get here tomorrow?

Great idea, cheers Ryan. Please DM your address.

Am trying reflash in the mean time, COM port shows up at least.

There’s a thread here somewhere that saw something similar (Though I don’t think it was an Octopus board specifically).

Back EMF from this scenario is potentially not your friend…

Uploaded firmware again, and seems to be running… phew… I’m 100% sure nothing else will go wrong now.

Any idea what happened?

I hope not. I hope you have a good day at opensauce. Looking forward to pictures and descriptions of your activities.

I have had an skr pro have a broken bootloader. No idea what happened, but it wouldn’t flash until I reflashed the bootloader over uart.

At some point, JJ is going to send me an SKR of some flavor to look over. That one appears to have a corrupt bootloader.

It seems rare, but possible, to get some kind of weird issue with these.

I have an octopus pro with a bad bootloader, 2 skr pro 1.2 that fried from bed drops and a 3rd skr pro 1.2 with 2 mosfets stuck on 100%. I will send you a message when I get back in town for your address so I can mail them out.

It was weird. And then I thought it happened again and I put it in time out for a few days and it worked fine afterward.

You have to take my witnessing with a grain of salt though. I do nonstandard stuff all the time to cut corners on my own machines. Who knows what I was messing with at the time.
