I think it’s because the gcode viewer can’t display negative numbers. Our cuts are always below the “build plate” that’s shown in the viewer.
I tried replacing all the ‘Z-’ with ‘Z’, but still no go.
I think it is trying to parse the layers from the file, which is also used in the slider. I’ll probably have to write my own plugin.

To 3D printer software, everything looks like travel moves.
Also, the octoprint has the concept of layers, which doesn’t make sense with CNC, really.
I hope you up with something clever!
Did you get any success? in fetaling the gcode viewer to work in the end?
What you’re really looking for is the “simulate” function from a CAM package. Problem is, though, that you won’t have access to all the information you’d need to make it work, like material dimensions, tool shape, etc. You can show the moves, but you can’t know what the output will look like.
