This is all good gcode. I’ve run every file on this machine repeatedly for the last couple years.
Beyond that this is not a gcode issue, it happens during power up, manually jogging, homing etc etc.

You just proved this is not, random code is very bad. What might get ignored this time does not mean it always will. Computers do not like that.
Only during motion, though. But when you powered up overnight the stepper stay powered, so it is not necessarily a stepper thing.
Maybe a picture of your full machine will help here.
You sure your extension cord does not have a break in is some where, it the plug is just loose enough to break for a second?
We have been at this a very long time now and this is screaming bad connection somewhere.
Why don’t you upload the file so we can see if there are any extra spaces added. You might not have text edited but that doesn’t mean something funky did not happen.
If you have been running the same files you created a couple of years ago, were they created for Marlin or GRBL? The gcode commands are different.
It’s all grbl, I was literally running them directly on this machine up until very recently.
So what I’ve done today (quick since I have to leave for an appointment.)
Considering the possibility this is still a PS issue I decided to start cutting demand, so I’ve disconnected steppers. I ran with just the X stepper connected so I could see that it was indeed running, ran my files and watched it fail.
So, lets try other gcode, downloaded Ryans crown, and let it go with that gcode. It failed there as well, I’ll upload the video on that one when I get back home.
Shut down, disconnect the last stepper, run the crown again and connection time out again.
Shut down, back up and let it sit, happens again. No gcode running, just powered on, 30 seconds later the connection times out.
I’ll order another power supply, but beyond that I’m at a loss.
“We have been at this a very long time now and this is screaming bad connection somewhere.” I don’t disagree there at all. I just can’t find where. I’ve been borderline abusive to my wiring trying to get it to fail on demand. There’s 0 motion on the end of todays tests though, nothing is moving besides lines of code on the screen.
Did you finally check which mode you use to connect to the Jackpot? I think I’ve never seen you answer this one.
You missed it, that one got answered 2days ago but it’s in a longer reply. I’m connecting directly to the jackpot, not through my network.
So todays adventure in troubleshooting is removing as many variables as possible. I removed the board entirely from the machine and it’s just sitting all on it’s lonesome, the only thing connected to it is the power supply. It took about 30 seconds to throw the first error message, then the websocket message, and then to the no internet screen.
Powered down, back up and connected. It lasted about 2 scrolling ‘idle’ reports before it stopped reporting anything. I tried a soft reset and it threw an error message that the Z endstop was tripped, nothing was connected to it and the LEDs on all endstops were out. So that was new and exciting.
Powered off and back on, and it’s been running for about 15 minutes, still scrolling idle.
I did climb under my table to pull my power supply, it’s 24v 3a. I thought it was 5 or 6 but I was wrong. I thought maybe it’s just too low in general but it looks like the ones sold in the shop are only 2.5a and are ‘plenty’ of power for the machine. As it’s sitting now it should only be drawing a few milliamps since there is 0 load. Besides the PS, I ran out of ideas the first time it failed tonight.
Wait, USB??
Is the jackpot and computer on the same power circuit, both grounded?
I highly recommend you use AP mode. USB is not easy to diagnose. AP Mode or the variables get out of control. We had a laptop and machine in different plugs that happened to be different circuits, voltage differential of some sort…issue.
It’s ap already, no cable.
I’m uploading a vid now, 21 minutes of oscar worthy narration, but you can see what im doing and what im seeing.
I know, it’s sideways.
Try a different browser, or better yet a different machine/OS.
Just tried Microsoft edge, same results.
So chrome, edge, samsung internet, and os android and windows, same results.
I’m not buying another computer to try. I did order a new 6a ps today, ill be able to try it this weekend.
I feel like everything has been tried. It has to be that power supply. The only other thing it could be is the regulator on the Jackpot so look real close at all the contacts in that expansion port section and make sure nothing is making contact, or has some debris on it.
I have so many different 12V+ power bricks laying around it is frustrating that I can’t just come over to try it. If only you were my neighbor.
I’m only in the middle of Florida, short trip…
New ps is here, 24v 5a…
You have had it about 10 months. What do you think is fair from my side?
Also not a good idea to run the power wire next to the Wi-Fi antenna and all the input pins.
Okay, The only thing we have not actually tried is remove all the drivers. See if it happen again. If not power down add them back one at a time and let’s see if there is a bad one, or if it is really the jackpot itself.
I understand it is frustration, trust me much more so for me. Last thing to try is those drivers.
Really not sure why it was fine on my end for hours, and only lasts a few minutes on your side, maybe a component is getting worse.
Didn’t you test it thoroughly? Why would there be a difference of minutes to hours?
It didn’t work for him before, worked for you, now doesn’t work again. Something else must be off.
Maybe a cap or resistor is going bad?? Could be a funky driver, This is all very new and I am very interested to know exactly why this is not working.
