If it fits in the tube it will work - sorry about the delay - man these things take time!
G
Gonna print this and see how it works.
I also have to see if I can find a buck converter to use my 24v power to 5v.
When I say ‘find’ I don’t mean online. I mean I know I have some… somewhere… but where did I put them??
I am away overnight but tomorrow evening is Printables upload, I promise!
Sucks to be me, I borrowed the use of the laser cutter in work to make those black/clear endcaps and of course I left them behind!

Definitely not- I have a wife slightly upright for the first time in three months, so we are ( gingerly) spending the weekend with our kids- we are 150 k’s from home! ![]()

The logo on those are a little large at some smaller tube sizes if you want to print in clear, I’v e changed the parameter slightly to fix that for the clear version coming later today!
Prusaslicer gave me a warning for dual and PETG because of the temp differences but did it none the less.
3mm thick 100% aligned infill.
Adding Ironing was probably a mistake
My original was 0.6mm thick clear with normal crossed infill - I think that disperses the light better and works a bit better with the logo. If you print outside face down I can’t see the need for ironing, then keep the light a surprising distance back - more than 50mm, you should get a much more subtle effect.
I am unsure about the thickness though - was going to go to 0.8 I don’t think it needs more than that, but will be happy to listen.
I’ll do a couple of dummy MMU tomorrow and put off the upload for just one more day!
For the MMU version it’s important that the logo goes completely through. ![]()
Yes - is 0.8mm thick OK for that?
Yeah, that should be enough. ![]()
Can confirm - it’s too thick. It works but the lights very muted.
I also need to trim the board holders - they don’t slide in easily. But the better news I found some buck converters and made up the board and cabling.
Sorry Dave, I can’t do that!
I was thinking more:

Todo:
Tidy up the 24v splitting supply - now serving the jackpot, laser, pendant receiver, under gantry lights and end cap lights ![]()
Was there a custom wled build that could change presets based on FluidNC status or did I dream it?
Ah, another one of my side project rabbit holes.
Finally!! Have fun - and please let me know if the instructions need a tweak!
