I have recently 3D printed and installed a wire chain for all three axis. I routed the stock router cord thru the wire chain. Do you think this will present an issue with the stepper motors and accuracy? Is there a better option for the router cord?
It’s not advised to fix something to the Z axis. If you check my Schneewittchen thread, there is a fixture that gets screws between the braces so it doesn’t put stress on Z. Gonna try to find it later.
Thank you. I will search for the Schneewittchen thread.
@Tokoloshe , I found your Schneewittchen thread with the cable chain bracket that attaches to the core. Thank you for letting me know about that.
You’re work is inspirational. Thank you for sharing the photos in that thread.
Glad I could be of help. Schneewittchen now serves as a plotter at school for the Makerspace Club I’m going to get next year. ![]()
That is awesome! What do you have now? Did you build a LR?
Yeah, the 3, then several 4s, also in the beta, now I have a pretty expensive, different CNC.
I love this community though and what Ryan does. Really looking forward to another CNC I can test. ![]()
That is so neat. Do you have a thread for you LR build? I haven’t really cut anything on my Primo yet and already wondering if I should have built a LR instead. I like to build a LR someday. I have a project for my wife to finish and then I’m free to make some sawdust (I think, LOL).
Did you add the handheld controller to your LR? Would it work on the Primo? Using my iPad is a little clunky to control my Primo.
I like a few “commercial” CNC’s, but yes, they are very expensive. The Primo and LR are much more approachable cost wise.
Yes, I love this community also.
Sure, it’s the Ghostrider.
I have always had a German control board that works directly with Estlcam. I’m the weird one… ![]()
