New LR4 Build in Bavaria

After completing the MPCNC Primo in December ( New Build - Primo Bavaria Germany ), I started building a Lowrider 4 milling machine in January. The Primo is now in a friend’s workshop, which I still have access to. The LR4 was finished at the end of February and is now ready for use. Here are a few pictures:

Dust extracxtion with magnetic hold.

When I don’t need the milling machine, the table is pulled up to the garage ceiling:

Really nice job!

You germans are something else… that’s slick

I spot solid bar instead of tube for the Y rail. Did you use that for the beam, too? Interested to know your reason for that, it must have been much more expensive than tube!

Also intrigued by idea of removing the small section of Y rail when storing the machine off the table :eyes:

I had to go back and look at that again… I really think that is a 3d printed endcap in the tube but I could be wrong lol. If its solid bar that is WAY overkill

Oh, yeah, you’re probably right, it looks like that on second look. Not as shiny. Just very similar colours in the picture!

It was the tiny section also looking solid that convinced me. Now I’m further intrigued as to how that works…

I guess it’s a storage crate with a short, additional rail. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Saved that picture for future reference.

That would make way more sense than lifting a section of the actual rail out :person_facepalming:

That’s right. I bought a 6-meter pipe and there was still quite a bit left over

This is really impressive! I assume you used the machine to cut the holes on your spoil board? What do you use to hold down your work pieces?

Yes, I milled the holes with the LR4 (19.8 mm). That’s the stuff I usually use. I usually use 5 mm sacrificial plates. (see also Amazon.de)
