Astonishing! It’s been three years since I sort of lost touch with myfordboy - glad you’ve put him back on my radar!
So cool! How did you figure this out? I’ve never heard of using a CO2 laser to “bleach” (?) a logo onto a 100% cotton clothing item!
This has just been made into a commercial product by some folks
I still find the price a bit steep (around $600 for a fully equiped unit) but it’s still cheaper than a “real” atc and does not require any sort of compressor/vacuum
So I just went here, and found that it needs a special spindle and correct size collet nuts, it is running the way that I posted for another one. It must screw the nut on and off.
Spindles must be controllable via g-code to run at 1200rpm both CW and CCW in order to make a tool change. Many spindles are not rated to run below 8000rpm. However this is only harmful if the spindle runs at low speeds under load or for long periods of time. We have tested several different spindles with this type rating with no problems, as it only runs at low speeds for a few seconds.
Yeah, it won the last velcro competition on printables (thought it was technically just a remix at first…).
I can’t say whether this has been posted before, but it looks like the sort of app that some of us could while away a few hours playing with.
Thank goodness that had a sign-up. It deterred me just enough not to play with it the rest of the night! That looks as fun as the bridge builder games. Once you start it is like 3 in the morning and you are wondering what happened to dinner.
And one more because I know not many people know about this.
If you have an iPhone, it has an app in the standard utilities folder called “measure”. When you get to know how it works it’s amazing how useful it can be.
Times like when hypothetically your wife looks at a table that seems on the face of it to be quite expensive for what it is and asks if you think you can make one like it.
You can have a couple of useful measurements in less time than it takes to say “yes dear”.
I like to measure a rectangular object with it to check the scale, but that’s it.
or you could carry a measuring tape and a pad I suppose.
Its easier to say no not that but this one that she doesn’t like i can. Then surprise her. Verry cool app
Made in Norway and shipped to Australia? Probably with wood from India. Shipping galore!!
That was nicely spotted! Oak from India? Could be. We do have some chairs that were made in Italy to a Danish design with certified American Oak and Spanish leather. No matter how I try to do the sums, I can’t make the cost of the materials add up to less than we paid for them.
Ah, I was just joking about the crazy shipping history many things have! But I wouldn’t be surprised if it was from India…
@DougJoseph i saw this and thought of you and your bandsaw motor modification.
That dude is something else!
Spraying the outline of the letters and border where the leds go to make it “glow” more was a good idea.
Clickbait - Now in layers.
I forgot. I mean it was years ago
