I’m not exactly as paranoid as I sound, and I know this sounds like an extraordinary conspiracy, but imagine if we lived in a world where someone could make a few thousand telephone pagers beep and then explode at the one time, or perhaps blow up vhf radio sets in a coordinated manner…microwave ovens or refrigerators shouldn’t be much of a problem, and those robo vacuum cleaners that pick up shoes?
How simple would it be for someone to programme those arms to strangle someone in their sleep?

They don’t even have to use facial recognition. Most of them can just use the wifi signal strength of your phone to track your movement through the store and can take note where you pause the longest. You don’t even have to be connected to the wifi.

I have one with an arm, it can barely pick up a shoe, and can’t reach that high, so I’m not worried.

I wonder if there would be a market for a ‘ready to go’ kit where everything is provided and the only thing the user has to do is to make the table and cut the rails to length or buy it with the length specified?
Could be a neat way to fish for a mention by some of the Youtube woodworking channels like Blacktail Studios or Foureyes Furniture…

I think it’s a different class of buyer, perhaps. People who ‘want the thing’ as opposed to people who ‘want to make the thing’.

There are so few components to the current zen the time invested is not worth the couple dollars in profit. The zen is a passion project for me, I did not expect it to even be a real project.
That said, I would like to make another zen see if I can make it have even smaller footprint / edges. I still have a lot of passion for it.

I really love the ZenXY. I have more of them than I have space for. I have given several as gifts, and will probably be giving away 2 more next month, provided they’re done on time (and I don’t think of something the recipients will like more.)
More than one recipient thinks I should be selling them, but I am building them because they’re fun to build. I don’t think it would be as much fun if it were work…
