Neat!

I saw Cam mentioned that in his newsletter. I really want to add a vertical milling section to my table to create a dovetail with a word.

Yeah, it’s been on my wishlist for ages, since I saw this video:

The table can’t do that yet. With the next CNC. :face_savoring_food:

What would be the best word? Joint? Wood? Dovetail? Make?

@turbinbjorn I saw this on Instagram. Do you live near this place? It’s a pretty amazing building.

Nice of you to remember my town! This photo is unfortunately not a photo…

that is interesting, but I am having a hard time with the entire concept, there is still going to be purge! has to be!

Snapmaker has something similar already and they still have a wipe tower. The basic idea is to eliminate it though.

I was talking about this with a friend and my suspicion is that they’re working on the nozzles cooling/heating so fast that they can essentially freeze the melt zone in place and then reform it before anything oozes. The fact they’re using induction heating on the head is noteworthy. I think they’re doing that to get instant heating through the depth of the nozzle barrel, not just at the surface and then needing to wait for conduction. Also much less thermal mass due to no heating element so quicker cooling.

For absolutely best performance it may still need some amount of purge, but I’d bet that it’d still be a hell of a lot less and if they get it tuned well enough it might be ‘acceptable’ quality with zero purge.

That seems exactly like Bondtech’s description of how INDX works from three or four months ago!

Bondtech Revealed March 21st, hopefully we’re starting to see the tech fairly licensed and integrated into some printers.

Can use for exporting tool shapes for CNC cutting too. Looks similar to Tool Kaiser mentioned on the forum, possibly other tools/services too?

It’s the (imo) poorer replacement for tool kaiser which was sold/shut down.

It’s okay-ish- toolkaiser was better. And it didn’t need to call itself AI either.

I don’t love the ‘vibe-coding’ side of it but the idea of a standalone pager that can be triggered with mqtt messages is something i think is a cool idea. I wonder how long you get out of a battery charge.

im adding an extension onto the front of my table to make a drop and a vertical clamp face in order to do this. Ive had that particular video saved for a loooong time.
