Actually, Tom may have been on to something… On the back of the LCD, on the red daughtercard is a little potentiometer. It looks a lot like the pots on the stepper drivers. Right above the SD card in the picture. That should be the contrast adjustment. Try fiddling with that a little, and see if something appears out of the display.

Yes that is a contract adjuster it does dim my screen. But still the only thing that shows is still those two rows of boxes all the way across the screen.

Bummer. It was worth a shot. That’s really odd. Usually, switching the cables around works. I know some people have had to clip the alignment tabs off of their cables, or remove the plastic “sockets” to be able to flip the cables.

ESTLcam is good for doing CAM and generating gcode, but it requires using the ESTLcam firmware (which only runs on a very specific set of hardware) to be used as a gcode sender. Repetier Host is probably the easier way to go.
