MP3DP V4 Build

Both were measured where the wires hook to the board. these dont have plugs at the end by the cartridge.

While you are heating does the power supply dip under 24V? Do the power wires to the board get really hot?

No sir. This power supply doesnt like to stay where its set obviously. I checked it last night and it was up to 25.1v Just got home and the new heat cartridges and Power supply were delivered. Hope to get them installed this afternoon and see what happens. But first i have got to get my dust collection piping ran correctly to the LR3 and finish surfacing the spoil board strips. Wife is on me to cut some stuff out LOL

Ok couldn’t stand it. Got a pack of 70w heat cartridge (overkill i know) and just had to see what they ohmed at. 8.2 any m leads alone are .5 so what’s that 7.7ish? MUCH lower than the 14ish on the cheapo amazon and WAY lower than the 25ish on the hemera one. Hopefully this will fix things up this afternoon.

While im thinking about it. when I put the meanwell on what should i make sure the voltage is at? dead on 24v or something closer to 24.5?

Ok i gotta get to work…LR3 needs some love an attention LOL

IT should not matter much. A little over is safe (don’t go overboard, under is better than over on some boards) but if it dips a bit everything should still work fine. It should not be picky.

So for that resistor you need 3A @24v. There should be absolutely no issues with your 9A PS.

One more thing…

@vicious1 box was dropped off at USPS this morning. All I had was a Medium Flat Rate box. They said it didn’t matter and your label would cover it but if for some reason you get charge please let me know. There are a few extras in the box so it wouldn’t have fit in a small anyways.

New Heater cartridge installed. 70w. She’s rolling now!!! Idk why the original crapped the bed but its back up and running now. Thought we were going to be home this evening so i could change out the power supply and get it printing but looks like that plan changed so will probably be later tonight or tomorrow but should be very soon lol. So glad that worked. I had fears of getting the new heaters and them not working either lol. WHEW!!! Its beer time!

I am very relieved. I really have no idea why that would happen. I am pretty sure my “Hermes” extruder still uses the OG heater, and that was gen one hemera.

I sure am glad you aren’t having to deal with this. I guess all the crap heating up and whatever else this thing is so clogged I cant clear it. Idk if its my lack of experience with hemera or what but i have never ever had this much trouble with a hot end before. I’ve been trying to clear it out for 45 min now and getting absolutely no where. Waiting for it to cool down so I can pull it all apart and hopefully google and find the correct size drill bit to run though it. If not then back to amazon to order a new hot end. Man it would be nice if something would just go right for me on this. I know its not the design. I know its not the parts. All of that is proven good. Its just the dumbass behind the controls and its starting to suck. Ok enough of that…back to work…

Cold pull it.

I have 8 running 24/7 and never had a clog that didn’t just come out.

There is a ptfe chunk that slides out so nothing can clog the throat, so any issues must be in the nozzle.

I don’t think there is a single thing left that can possibly be wrong with your parts.

I’m about to pull it apart. I had to just walk away for a few. The nozzle is sitting on the table and even at 210 i couldn’t get a .4 cleaning needle through it. I’m guessing I screwed up setting it up and it leaked some filament in there somewhere. Ill try to take some pics when i get it apart. Gotta stay up a little while longer anyways and put a brisket on the BGE at 11 so may as well mess with this lol

Woah. The sudden bed drop at the end was bit of a shock.

Someone already found a TPU self inflating whoopie cushion on Printables? Or mechanically attached counter weight(s)?

Yeah it doesn’t like to error lol. I cant remember who but some have installed springs to help in the event it falls like that.

Maybe some tennis balls underneath it

I wonder if we could convince Marlin to not disable the Z motors on an error. Because there will be occasional other errors.

Maybe there is some kind of eddy current braking system with some setting magnets and some iron rails. It will only slow down if it is moving fast.

Found the jam…

Had to disassemble the extruder to get to it. Not a bad job really. Just a little intimidating since I have never done it before and this is the most expensive extruder I have ever owned lol

Little first layer porn…

You jumped in with the most insane first layer part I have ever made…just saying. I think that proves your leveling is spot on.

This looks a little suspicious, your ptfe might be a touch short and leaving a little gap for soft filament to flow into. If you get any more clogs swap that out for a tighter fit.

You should sear the edges of your wire mesh! It’s gonna unravel quite a bit otherwise.
