MP3DP V4 Build

I won’t bother plotting this one. It is similar to the first one. Several repeats. Many points ended up at Z:1.2 (suspicious).

M111 S32 turns on leveling debugging, not sure if that overrides the firmware setting or not.

So after my 3 point leveling that looks almost exactly like that, My mesh is all well under 1mm, I think it is all under half mm. So whatever readout that is, must be raw data? M420 T1 V1 shows the data we need, but it didn’t work last time.

Earlier when i ran bed level from the LCD it said it saved it to eprom but when i run that now it says the same thing…invalid mesh

I just ran it again and when it got to the last spot where it always fails i picked up on the bed so i knew it would hit the probe. Now M420 T1 V1 gives this…

echo:Fade Height 5.00

Ok finally was able to do this. Nozzle is at the edge of the PEI sheet at 290mm. It’s 1mm away from hitting the back corner at 298mm. But noticed something…

Assuming I have a major build error somewhere to cause this to be that far off

Progress!!!

So that arm is adjusted by the XY belt tension. (if you pull on a belt in teh back you will see how it moves the X rail. Make sure it hits the endstop at the front (y endstop), and fairly square at the back. You might need to loosen the 4 screws on the X rail to move it far enough. You probably need to adjust the belts if it is that far off.

You can also pick up a few mm Y if you move the Y endstop a few mm back, meaning loosen the belt if needed.

Guessing that is causing binding and moving your probe.

Do you have full X travel?

Yes sir. Funny thing is i had to bend the Y end stop so it would hit. The belts are pretty loose right now since we thought that was part of my problem in the beginning (Damn Grub Screws :man_facepalming:) so i will play with that and see if i can get it sitting better that direction.

We are all learning a lot.

We are also learning that no matter what anyone ever says CNC are a lot easier in all regards. So many less things to worry about. And why I have no desire to be a 3D printer company…

But when you get this thing running everyone here will have a degree in printer troubleshooting, and you will not be able to wipe the smile off your face!

I couldn’t agree more with everything you said. And I hope you, @jeffeb3 and everyone else who has tried to help with this that I appreciate it more than I could ever express. This forum is what gave me the guts to try building this in the first place. And I know that the 3d printer side isn’t your main focus so for you to take so much time out to try and help me means the world!

I just finished messing with the belts. I think I’m going to have to adjust the bed size in the firmware down to 290 in Y It is a lot closer to even now and still hits the Y endstop at the front. Not perfect but a hell of a lot closer than it was. I’m going to give leveling a shot just to see what happens and if it doesn’t go I’m going to attempt to change the Y to 290 in the firmware and see if it will flash. Now that I know I can look at the date in info I should be able to tell if it flashed even if it doesn’t give me the .cur Sounds good in my head at least lol.

I didnt touch anything this time. just let it go and it actually probed everywhere. I am going to have to bring Y down as it did hit the back corners but thats no big deal. FINALLY!!!

Damnit. One step forward and now another back. I wasnt paying attention enough when i ran the G34 before the G29. Just did the firmware update and went to run it again. G34 it probes the first spot, -X-Y then moves over and probes +X-Y, Probes both times then moved to the middle of the bed and says probing failed. I dont get it. Its probing just like it always does. Makes no damn sense.

AND… G29 fails now. Literally the only thing i changed in the firmware was Y from 300 to 290. I dont get it

You know we all love a good mystery. This is probably only annoying for you. I bet we are all probably enjoy the puzzle.

Did you edit the probing positions? configadv

No i didn’t. I will look at that. I haven’t touched that at all.

Defiantly annoying. But I do enjoy the learning side of it so not all bad.

Just out of curiosity, did you leave the Macro SDcard in the board?

When I was building my 1st Repeat I have several issues, very similar to yours…

and here…

If im looking at this right those arent defined so it should use probe limits. Which are set to X300 Y290 and to stay inside 10mm

No i took it out as soon as I finished flashing the board and then reset the board.

These are all clearly under 10mm… Significantly. The 13.2 must be some other units. Or maybe they include some offset from the 3 point level.

If you get the probe to work again, I would be interested to see the debug prints next to the final mesh to see if I can find a pattern.

You must be right on the hairy edge of failure when it works.

Can you change Z_PROBE_LOW_POINT to something like -5mm or -10mm?

is that the M111 S32 before I run the G29?

It is currently set to -2 I will change it to -10 and recompile and see what happens

Ok 3 point level still doing the same thing. But G29 did work. Going to run it again with the M111 S32 first. Actually if i remember right @vicious1 said the M111 S247 gave more debug info so i will run that one and hopefully come back with good info.
