Moving Primo from RAMBO v1.4 to Jackpot - Tips and Best Practices?

Having just re-wired my Primo that was sitting for 2 years, and finally getting it cutting, naturally my next move is to change things up…saw the new Jackpot board and it’s specs, and decided that I might as well jump on it before I get too far down the road with my current RAMBO v1.4 and such.

So, I have the Jackpot ordered and arriving next week.

I also already had an e-stop button and a solid-state relay ready to wire up, and I think I’m going to use a project box that I bought for some outdoor WLED projects, but haven’t used yet to house the board and PSU, etc.

I ordered a new Meanwell 24v PSU, a couple of 80mm 24v fans to keep things cool, and a touch probe for when I get to the point of figuring out how/when to use that.

Any other hardware I’m missing?

Any tips from those who’ve made this switch?

Is you primo dual endstop non-serial stepper wired?

Not sure what you mean by “non-serial” but yes, dual endstop, though I don’t have the endstops wired up on the RAMBO at present (they’re wired up at the stepper end, just haven’t added them to the board because I’m not doing any homing yet.

Looking at the Jackpot docs, I think the stepper wiring should be pretty straightforward.

I mean each stepper is on its own cable to its own driver. Some mpcncs ‘paired’ the x steppers and y steppers - something you don’t want to be doing on a jackpot.

Gotcha. Yes, currently wired with separate X1/X2 and Y1/Y2 cables.
